Hi Ladies,

Apparently pricing for 2010 is coming out now and my FI and I are trying to make a decision on where to have our DW. Below is the list of our options (although we havent looked at Jamacia yet). If you have been to or had your DW at any of these locations i would love to hear about your experience so i can narrow down my list. If there are any other resorts you found amazing i would also like to hear about them. Myself, FI and all of our guests will be travelling from Canada and we wanted to keep the prices under $1500 pp and are flexable with dates. Any help with this would be amazing.

Here is the list:

Los Cabos:

RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas

Melia Cabo Real

Royal Solaris

Crown Plaza

Dreams Huatulco

Mayan:

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda

Paradisus Riviera Cancún**

Punta Cana:

Dreams Punta Cana

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana

Waiting to hear from you..

Shelly

Have you done a search on the forum for any of those properties? What about Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor ?

I would write out a wish list first of the things you are looking for, to help narrow down your choices. All Inclusive, Adult Only, etc Here is my template for a comparison chart http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34495

You will probably need to contact a travel agent or do some research on the current rates to get an idea about pricing. I know there are lots of deals out there!

Good Luck!

I am also looking into having our wedding at the Riu Palace in Cabo. I recently got a quote from an agent at Weddings By Oceans in Toronto. From Toronto to Cabo in July for double occupancy, I was quoted $1800 + 266.50 per person. I haven't emailed the resort yet but I am going to, to see if guests staying at the Santa Fe could count towards the 80% rule.

I have stayed at the Palace before and really loved it. It was great service, really good food, unlimited champagne (haha!), huge pools, and it was clean!!

I have been to Punta Cana before ...but not those resorts. My parents have stayed at Dreams Punta Cana though. They thought it was nice but felt they have stayed at nicer properties in the Mayan Riviera.

When I was researching all of the different resorts trying to decide on where to have my DW I found tripadvisor to be really helpful. When I narrowed it down to two different resorts I found that emailing the wedding coordinator at the resort answered all of my questions. And from my experience they don't pressure to have your wedding at their resort, they just provide you with any questions you may have. I am getting married at Dreams Puerto Vallarta, Rebeca, my wedding coordinator there was more than happy to answer any of my questions, I even sent her a six page word doc with questions I had and she sent it back to me all filled out. I think your best bet is to ask the people who will be your contact there. Even though 2010 prices aren't out yet and contracts can't be signed they can still hold the date for you!

I think i might scratch Los Cabos...only because you cant swim in the ocean, i think my guests would be pissed, plus its a 7 hour flight for many of my guests. I think i will do the comparison chart that erin posted for the resorts with nice beaches in Mexico. Any other suggestions not on my list that fit these criteria would be helpful.

- also has to be kid friendly
