Steel pans for ceremony

Recommended Posts

We are thinking about having a steel pan trio for our ceremony. I am thinking Canon in D or Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring for the maids to walk in, and then One Love for the recessional. NO idea what I want to use for my processional song. Any ideas?? It can be traditional or not, we are kind of doing a mix.

I am having the steel drum band as well. I was thinking over the rainbow for the bridesmaids and for myself Canon in D and also One Love for the recessional.

Have you been on youtube listening to the songs. We are also having our first dance on the beach to the steel drums and we have chosen Can't stop falling in love with you. I pretty much have all the songs orgainized I want them to play lol I think I have to much time on my hands right now :)

I've also chosen Over the Rainbow by Iz for my bridesmaids to walk down on but have not yet decided on what song I will walk down in.

Since the ceremony is only about 20-30 minutes, and minimum time you can rent the steel drum band is about an hour, can you add the leftover time for the reception? How does it work? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question. LOL

Krista - I think if you email the wedding co-ordinator she might be able to give you a list. I remember somewhere on these boards I had found a list. maybe if you search steel drum it might come up. I am going to email my co-ordinator when the time comes with my requested list and see if they can play the songs I want. I am pretty sure most of the songs I have picked are very popular on the steel drums. But I am sure there is one or 2 they wont know with my luck lol

sherryl joy - As far as I know you rent them for 1 hour. So basically during the ceremony you are still paying for them even thou they are not playing. So really you are paying for an hour but only getting like 40 mins.

We are having 2 sets of steel pans set up. They are going to play at the ceremony and then head over to our cocktail hour location (where the 2nd set will be set up) and will play there for the duration of the cocktail hour. We have a full band for the reception.
