Shower Alternatives???

Recommended Posts

Hey All!

So not only am I a blushing bride to be (getting married in 58 days) but I will also be a matron of honor (and only female attendant) in Sept. 2007. One of my dearest friends is getting married in a small DW in Niagara Falls. She doesn't want a shower. I asked her a million times because i wanted to make sure of this given my that schedule is getting crazy with less than 2 months to go before Jay and I get married. She also doesn't want to do a bridal luncheon with her mom, FMIL, etc. Everyone is driving her nuts apparently. And due to her grueling schedule she doesn't have a lot of friends so a bachelorette party is out.

I really want to honor this passage (from single to married) for her. This has been a long time coming for her and I really want to do something special (yet not break the bank....I am getting married soon too). I was thinking of taking her to the spa and then to a nice lunch or dinner and maybe giving her something nice for her wedding....perhaps champagne flutes.

Any other ideas?

a day out shopping-or window shopping-a spa day sounds great. Just have a girls day with her where neither of you have to worry about weddings and such, just relax

If she is getting married in Niagara you should go to Niagara on the lake. It is so beautiful there (my grandparents used to live there) They have amazing little shops, restaurants and spas. You could take her for a girls day and go to the spa, have a nice lunch and check out the shops. I think it would be a great day to spend together and very memorable!

I say spa/shopping but that can get expensive if you're trying to save for your own wedding right now. Hmmm....what about a picnic? You can get her favorite foods, do pedicures, look at old photos. Just spend some time talking about the old days and where your futures are going as soon to be married women. My friend got a journal when I moved away and we both wrote down our thoughts and wishes, top 10 favorites/dislikes in a bunch of categories. It's funny now to read it now and see how we've changed and stayed the same. She may appreciate a relaxing day where you can just lay around and giggle.
