Trying on wedding dresses - help!!!

Recommended Posts

I agree with everyone else...when I went to try on dresses - except at David's Bridal - all they had were 10, 12, and 14. I think you'll be fine. If they don't have what you want in a good sample size at one store, just try another. Don't get discouraged!!

I had so much fun dress shopping....I bought four. Don't have that much fun. LOL. It's bad for your wallet!!!

I know I'm not small, but I'm hardly big enough that I shouldn't be able to try on wedding dresses!!?? I can't believe that would be true - can anyone offer any insight?

If it is of any relevance, I have my heart set on a Maggie Sottero (well, several.. lol)
Pfffffffffffff no way who told you this ? I was a size 12 when I tried on dresses and there were all in size 12 and actually too small (except David's bridal) but my actual size was 14 or 16 at most !! Plus size are you kidding me ?

I agree with everyone else. Most of the dresses I tried on were at least a 10. Plus as long as you get the general idea of the cut of the dress you should be good. Worse case you might not be able to completely zip up...but who cares! You'll be able to buy the dress of your dreams in your size.

As for Maggie dresses...a lot of them that I tried on were corsett style in the back which give you a lot more to work with when trying them on when compared to a zip style.

You'll have to share pictures when you've found "the one".

HAVE FUN!!

I don't think you will have any problem...I found all different sizes and I went to a small town bridal store. I love the corset back too, def. try some of those on - for me they made my waist look so tiny (even though it isn't LOL)

Hi Ladies,

First of all, thank you all so much! Your comments were very helpful, and supportive as always! You really made me feel much better!!

Second, you were right LOL I went to try on dresses today, and they all got on perfectly fine! I only tried on Maggie's, with the corset backs, so that was probably why... but I bought one (YAY!!!), and my size was actually a 12! One size bigger than their sample. :)

Sooo... here it is! LOL I LOVE it... LOVE LOVE. I felt like a princess in it, and I've never felt like that before in anything, and certainly didn't think that a big white dress would do it... wink.gif

Again, thanks for all of your help!!!
