Hi There:

I am just in the VERY beginnign stage of planning my wedding to be next February 2010. My thoughts are Jamaica, Puerto Vallarta or The Mayn Riveria. I am looking for a gazebo wedding and expect approximately 50-60 people. I have so many questions!

I would like a sit down dinner in a room with only our group. Is that possible? Is there an cost extra for this?

Has anyone had a great experience somewhere that had this and would recommend the resort?

Any feedback or suggestions would be welcomed.

Welcome to the forum and congrats! Often times the wedding dinner will be an extra fee at resorts and charged at a per plate basis, normally this is separate from the rest of the guests at the resort. I was a guest and photographer at the Paradisus Riviara and it was great. Reception dinner was just behind the ceremony on the patio right beside the beach. No other guests were in sight during the night. You should be able to get lots of other suggestions too from members on the board as many have had great experiences.

Welcome to the forum! We were all at that VERY beginning stage at some point, so hopefully this website will help you out. All three places you have listed are very popular for weddings, and produce gorgeous weddings at that!!

The PRIVATE sit down dinner will definitely typically cost you more. Even if you are at an all inclusive. This is because you are paying for the individualized attention. The resort has to hire more staff and typically open up an area of the resort which would be closed, or block it off from the rest of their guests.

As for a resort recommendation, that's hard! You'll need to sit down with your FI and look at your budget and your list of needs. That should help narrow down the list.

Good luck!
