Anyone have the just the 2 of you for the wedding???

Recommended Posts

hi iwantadreamswedding,

We are also doing the romantic dinner option as part of our package since we won't be having a reception. I'm still considering if we shoud have music for the ceremony. Will you be having a ceremony? we are having one on the beach. Where are you getting married? I'm getting married at Secrets Maroma.

We are doing the same! We are having a beach ceremony, and then when we return we will have a casual BBQ AHR. When we first started planning, I was so overwhelmed with everything that it became a natural choice for us to do it ourselves. And ever since the decision was made, we have been having so much fun with the wedding planning process. It's like a breath of fresh air! I think just the two is soooo romantic too. I can't wait!

For example, do you still walk up with the guy waiting with the minister or do you just walk up togetherhuh.gif What you do after since there is no reception? How much of the day does it take up? I just want to know EVERYTHING. I am getting married at the caves in negril with just us June 17th and am trying to find info about the caves wedding specifically but am not getting replies. I guess not that many caves brides..So anyone who is having or has had a just the two of you destination wedding would be awesome, ANY info.
I know I can ask the wedding coordinator but would like info from other brides...And I am sure once I get there I will be asking myself why in the world I was so anxious. It is just so fun to talk about and I am so exited.
Oh an I have talked to the wedding coordinator at Breezes and she explained a little to me. My fi will walk out with the minister. They will play music(I will bring my own) and I will walk to him. They said our wedding will take about 20 min. After we will go to a garden gazebo to sign our marriage license, have the wedding cake, share a few dances, ect. After we will spend some time with the photographer. To finish the evening we will have a private candlelight dinner. That's all I know so far, but info from other brides would be great :)

Are you wearing a wedding dress and have you decided what your fi will wear? Also are you going barefoot or shoes? Well happy planning!!!

Hey there! So happy to have stumbled on this new thread! I posted my situation in the "newbie" thread if you are interested in reading it, but my husband and I just got married, the 2 of us at the Iberostar Grand on 3/6/09. I did enjoy a little bit of planning leading up to the big day...choosing a minister, finding a wedding dress, deciding where I wanted to get married (beach, gazebo, etc.) but it was truly a perfect day. I am working on my review that will include many more details about the big day and some pictures so I will post it here too when I am finished! wink.gif

Hello! I can't agree more!! :)

My husband and I just got married at the Iberostar Grand in Mexico on 3/6/09 and it was just the 2 of us. It was such a romantic day and absolutely perfect for the 2 of us. We are planning a "wedding celebration" this summer back at home for familiy and friends! The WC at the resort helped me with the details of the day including flowers, the arch for the beach, and even helped me zip up the dress! :)

We're somewhere in the middle. I seriously doubt we'll have more than a dozen people there including the wedding party.

I, too, have been married before though it wasn't extravagent (he was in the military so our moms pretty much planned the whole thing while we were out of state. we came home, showed up and the deal was done. lol). We have kids, and quite a bit of family, but lots of older people and family with small children who won't be able to travel.

I'm just sort of leaving it open..whoever shows up shows up. But I seriously think it will be around a dozen.
