Print address on clear labels or on envelopes directly?

I was just going to print the addresses directly on the envelopes, (pearly colored paper)...but now I am reading that some of you did the clear labels...

Do they show up? I am afraid they will show.

 

does anyone have a pic of it?

I personally did mine directly on the envelope and I thought it looked great -- also saved me from having to buy labels!!!

I have done both ways.

I think the printing on the envelopes looks better, but takes longer.

According to traditional invitation etiquette, you should print directly on the envelope. But I've seen it done both ways a hundred times.

I used clear labels and they looked great! They totally disappeared on my metallic aqua envelopes.

For the STDs I printed directly on the postcards, but my printer is weird and it took forever (I'm talking hours of frustration) to set it up right. So for my invites I did clear labels-- picked a cute font and they look great! You can find templates for all the Avery labels here: Design Templates | Word & Photoshop Blank Templates | Avery.

I did our STD's in calligraphy. Not professional, but it looked nice. What should I do for our wedding invites? Also, what are you girls doing for return address labels? i was going to order from Vista Print with our logo.

I had that issue too! I ultimately decided to print the addresses on clear labels for my Save the Dates and I am so glad I did. It was really easy and looked great. The only thing I would recommend is to wait until the labels are totally dry before you try to apply them. Mine were not wet but not totally dry so I would get a smidgen of ink on my finger when I peeled the labels off. When I went to apply the labels on my envelope I left a little smudgy finger print on a few and I had to do them over again! Other than that, they turned out great!
