Should I get my own wedding planner??

Hi All,

 

I'm planning a DW in Aruba for the summer of 2010. I understand that each resort has it's own Wedding Coordinator that assists with the event. I am also considering hiring a Wedding Planner in the U.S. who shares her business with an Aruban planner. I like this idea because I would be able to meet with her and she would be easily accessible. She would also assist with my guest travel plans.

 

Does it make sense or should I just use the resort WC and find a travel agent to help my guests with their travel plans??

Sounds like that could be a really convenient partnership.

I have a wedding planner, and she comes with the package, lover her so far. All is done by email, easy enough for us.

 

My aunt is taking care of guests travel, as she works for Carnival, who we are cruising with.

 

If it makes you feel more at ease to have an extra link, then go for it. There is a lot of planning involved and lot's of details to oversee.

I say if it's in your budget -- go for it!

Having a local person will probably relieve a lot of stress closer to the day -- and in planning out the details along the way

 

if I'd had that option -- beleive me, I would have done it:-)

I'm going to think about it and see. It would be ideal for me but I'll look at the budget and check the rates of the wedding planners.

I agree with Simistar, if it is in your budget, go for it. I would imagine it would take a HUGE amount of stress off of your plate.

I agree with the other ladies if you can do it why not. Less stress is always a plus.
