Hello!! My name is Christa and I'm from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. I have joined bestdestinationwedding.com in hopes to get some tips and feedback about our upcoming wedding. We're hoping to have the wedding in the Mayan Riviera in October 2009 or January 2010. I welcome any suggestions or information on past experiences

Congrats Christa and welcome to the forum! Every time I hear Red Deer I think of the building with the old western mural on the side of it (took a picture of a wedding party there). January is often times better for travel for us Canadians vs October as October is normally busy for a lot of families (thanksgiving and the weather is still fairly nice). January is cold and really nice to escape from and go somewhere warm!

Welcome! I just joined as well and plan on getting married this november. I don't know if you have a set date, but I set my wedding on a weekday since people are traveling to Maui for my wedding, and anyday is a good day in Maui! I have only been planning for 2.5 weeks, but I already have the venue booked and I am assuming I should not have problems booking the other services. Happy planning!
