I don't know from experience but I talked to the girls in the bridal store about this... they said that almost all fabrics are ok and will not actually "trash" a dry cleaning will make them as good as new. Silk (as it shrinks in the water) and I forget the other fabric sorry, are the 2 they told me wouldn't work.
