CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Anyone looking for some good OOT bag goodies, I hit the Dollar Giant today and found some good deals!...everything under $1.25...

Some things that caught my eye:

1. Dish wipes (they look like really thick double sided cloths, you just add water and the dish liquid is already there!! Good if you're giving travel mugs 20 per box but I forget if they were $1 or $1.25 per box)

2. Large bottles of Hand Sanitizer, 2 per pack (probably double or triple the amount of the 3 pack at Dollarama) and again can't remember if these were $1 or $1.25...

3. Gel Eye Masks, I think they were all Blue, $1.25 each, Good for BM's...

That's all I can think of right now, I should have done a physical list and not a mental list!! lol

I think giving out OOT bag is a nice and fun way to show appreciation to your guests. Keep in mind they do spend quite a lot of $$ and vacation time just to join your wedding! It also depends on the size of your wedding, mine is only around 25-30 people so I can be a little more generous and spend more on purchasing OOT bag items. Typically $10-20 per bag would be reasonable.

Based on the reviews, OOT bags are always a surprise to the guest and 10 out of 10 are very happy when receiving them!

You can always have your parents and close family to help transporting the bags down, just have to pack smart, shouldn't relaly a problem~

Good luck and have fun planning!

Are you getting married right near the Falls, or farther away towards Niagara on the Lake?? Weather wise there isn't a huge difference, I'm just curious!!

For a May wedding, you might be more of the hit and miss category than anything. Having lived in southern ontario for a number of years I'd have to say that my guess is it will be fairly warm and dry BUT that's if it is a typical summer. There have been wet years when the weather was just crummy for most of the summer no matter where you were!

Regardless, you should see lots of green and flowers in full bloom at that time so it will be really pretty! I'd say just keep an eye on the trends leading up to your wedding and that will give you a good indication. Most of your rain will come in March and April so keep that in mind.

I've included a quick link that I pulled up just to give you some numbers to work with... hope it helps!Niagara Falls Canada Spring Weather Trends (if you want more info, the title I included for the link is exactly what I googled to find this page!!!).

I found some great cups tonight at Michael's...I went there to get the rhinstone iron-ons. They still had plenty of those, so I was happy!

I always scour the clearance racks and found a bunch of packages of plastic cups with some cute wedding sayings on them. There was "Eat, Drink and Be Married" "I DO!" and "Two Hearts, One Love" They came in packages of 10 and they were on sale for $4.99, so about 50 cents a cup. I bought three packages of the Eat Drink and Be Married ones (We are expecting between 20-26 ppl for our wedding, so 30 should be safe) They were regularly priced $13 for a ten pack, so it's a great deal. This saves me from having to do a bulk order and shipping them! They had plenty on the shelves too and the cashier said they just recently went on clearance.

Also, tomorrow, Michaels is having a 20% off Everything sale (including sale items) with this coupon thingy that they are giving out at the store...in case anyone has some stuff to buy!

Which Michael's did you go to? We just got back from the Richmond Hill location. They didn't have very many rhinestone iron-ons left. And they only have the red cups. It sounds like the one you went to was way better!
