CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Amy - you completely just answered the question I came on to ask everyone, about the shipping/duty charges from Oriental Trading Co.! I was looking there this morning myself for a set of carabiners because that's what I wanted to use to attach my keycards to my mugs and I seem to have lots the ebay user that I had been comparing with.

What company is it that you've been dealing with to try and get the coils?

Hmm, okay well as it turns out I might have deleted one of the links that I had (figured I wasn't using the coils and was desperately overwhelmed by saves in my favourites!) but the other I had came from someone on BDW and it is:Pouch 'n' Coil wrist chains. I haven't ordered from them myself so a call might be worthwhile to find out more?

And I think you're right about the link you provided, that the date automatically changes for the "Updated today!" idea because it currently has today's date identified. Wouldn't it be great if ALL websites were really updated daily?!?!

Hey ladies,

Found a Canadian retailer for tote bags! Just Promo Bags - Factory Direct Promotional Product Pricing for custom printed totes, cinch bags, laundry bags, lunch and cooler bags, wine bags.

You can order blank or printed totes and there is no minimu order. I sent an email inquiry yesterday and got a response back within the hour.

25 Blank canvas totes $2.07 each + $15 shipping.

When I asked cheaptotes about shipping to Canada they said it would cost $50!

Thanks for the link! The prices are awesome, but they have the same crappy shipping prices as OTC! Why does it cost $23 to ship some crummy key chains across the border?! And that probably doesn't even include duties!

Sigh...off to the dollar store I guess!

Awww sorry about the shipping, I wasn't sure. I will check my laptop at home this evening and see if I have the other link saved there but I'm not sure since I cleaned out both of my favourites tabs sad.gif

I'm a bit hooped as well because I can't find the seller for the carabiners that I wanted anymore. They were on ebay for a long time so I didn't think there was really a big rush to get them right away. Turns out I was wrong so it might be off to the dollar store for me too.

Does anyone know if it will be a problem to bring our items through customs in order to hand them out to guests while we're waiting to board the plane??

I am just doing mugs and key/tip holders, but I wonder if this will be an issue...

Since it's not the US customs, I'm hoping it won't be a problem!!

I'm guessing that your items are all small enough that they will fit in to everyone's carry-on luggage so that no one will be over their allowance, but what I would do is call ahead to the airline and explain what you'd like to do and see what they say about it. The only reason I can see them putting up a fuss is if they view the bag holding your items as an extra piece of carry-on (which I realize it isn't but they might say so). Also, having names of some guests that are booked on your flight with you might help so they know you aren't just trying to pull something behind their backs.

I wouldn't count on it. You may not be entering the states, but the regulations are higher everywhere. I suppose it would depend on the items, and there SHOULDN'T be a problem with mugs and kep/tip holders - but you might want to call the airline and double check.

But carry-on items are still more restricted - double check to be sure. I would worry that it would be too much stuff to go on as carry on - there are size and weight limits for that no matter what you're bringing through. Some airlines are REALLY strict about it!

The Transport Canada website should have more info about what can and can't go on the plane. Each airline will have their size/weight restrictions.

Good luck - its a great idea! Wish we could give ours out at the airport...
