I need some unbiased opinions! Do my groomsmen need to match my bridesmaids?

My wedding colours are a deep pink (think magenta) and royal purple. My bridesmaids dresses are in the magenta and will be carrying bouquets of pink and purple flowers. The groomsmen are all in matching beige suits with white shirts. I have looked everywhere for ties to match the bridesmaid dresses but have had no luck. However, I did score an amazing deal at Sears which was a purple tie (with a very subtle design) and cufflinks for $5!!! Is it OK to have the groomsmen wear purple instead of the pink?

My shoes and a lot of the decor is also purple if that helps.

Help!!!  :o)

I think that it would look great! Also you are having purple decor so it will tie in very nice with your colour scheme.

Ok, this may be a little off topic but I figured it is OOT related so this is the best of the two Canadian forums I love to post in!

With Vista Print (yes I am attempting the vista print phenomenon) when you upload your own design, (say DND sign on a rack card) do you create the design and upload it in the size of item ie rack card?

I don't know if this makes any sense..... I just am uncertain how to go about it... I am going to play around with it now and if I figure it out I will let you know but any help would be great!

Congrats on your first attempt! :o)

You have a couple of options depending on what program you are using. I use photoshop and have done it a couple different ways (again, depending on which works out cheaper!).

If the 'freebie' offer allows you to upload your own design, then yes create a file that's the same size as the dimensions of the rack card. Make sure though that your image resolution is at least 300 dpi or they won't print very nice. The only thing to be careful of is that some items have preset margins so you won't get a full bleed to the edges.

If the offer does NOT allow you to upload the full design, you can always select a blank design and then just add your images over top.

The other thing I would recommend is that if you are planning on printing a variety of items, try and find a vista design you like that comes in sets. I realized this after I ordered a few things and am now using the Cocktail Floral pattern on most items to keep them consistent. I then just use the advanced editing feature to add text and images. I find it's much easier and I don't have to worry about margins etc. b/c it always prints to the edges.

Oh....I just realized that in this week's promo you can get LARGE banners free. Normally they only have small ones so this is a great deal b/c they are usually about $60. I had one made for my welcome dinner.

Hope that helps!

MJKH,

Kinda. I believe that once you purchase an item which uses an upload, that image is saved in your file so you can use it on other items too free of charge. I uploaded my logo during one of the free upload promo's and have used it on several items.

The exception would be if a 'freebie' doesn't include advanced editing so you couldn't use the image. So for example sometimes the free versions don't allow for personalization and you have to use a VP template. So you may have ordered the pen with the logo free this week, but next week's promo might not allow it just b/c you have to use a template. I hope that makes sense.

This week's promo is good b/c it allows for free uploads. This is a great way to get pictures uploaded at no cost and then use them at a later date. At one point I made a calendar which I totally didn't need, but now I've got 12 pictures uploaded that I can use on other items. :o)
