So in an effort to keep our Canadian OOT thread on topic but stills tay in touch with many of my favourite Canadian brides I have created a Canadian Brides!!!!!! Thread where we can keep in touch, keep each other updated and keep one another informed on our finds that are not necessarily OOT related! I hope to see you all in the thread as you have probably been the most significant sources of support during this process so far!!!!!!

Hi Tori,

Thanks for the web site, lots of great stuff on there! Re-sewing kits at Michael's, did you find them with the sewing notions or in the bargain bins? I was at Michael's today for the 3rd time this week...and didn't see this note. I may make my own though. For those ladies making your own, I went to my Dollar Giant store and they had nice sewing kits (not in a container) that you could assemble in the diy holders. They were nicer then the ones I saw at Dollarama.

I am debating about spending the money on cloth bags or just going with paper bags...any thoughts. How much on average are you ladies spending on your OOT bags?

I bought my sewing kits at Michaels (US) for $1 (they have them here in Canada for $1.50) they come with little scissors etc BUT if you were looking to just include a small sewing kit for the idea and SAVE some money there is a great idea on this site!!!!

Come cardstock, a few colours of thread, a few needles and buttons and you can DIY your OWN sewing kits for cheap cheap cheap!!!!! Also you can easily personalize these and I think they are PERFECT for what you need for a DW.  Wish I had found this before because I TOTALLY would have done this!!!!

Hope this helps out some DIY Canadian brides

The sewing kits were in the front dollar bin section (but not the dollar bin aisle) if that makes any sense!  You know all the "baskets" around the cash and such, that's where I found mine!  I have the $1 Dollar Tree totes (basically sold out everywhere now) for $1 they were the same if not cheaper than some paper bags and at least they can be re-used and I am not contributing to any Dominican pollution lol.  They can leave them for the staff if they like after the weeks over!  Dollarama has cute re-usable totes for only $1 or $2.  They also have the re-usable "grocery" style bags that if u were thinking of paper I'd suggest those! People could fold them up and throw them in their carry on on the way home incase they need them for anything and then again re-use them!!!!

Let us know what you decide!!!!!

Michael's is running their "Dollar Days" promotion or something all summer (according to the Michael's clerk I talked to) and I had to go to three different Michaels' in three different cities (I was travelling for different reasons (concert and then a funeral) and my fiancee is like why are you so intent on finding a michaels?) but anyway - yea - finally found them in Moncton, NB. Got them all blue too, I was gonna get mixed color ones but FI said might as well go with our color since it matches nicely.

I tried looking for them in the sewing section they don't have any there - they will be in the bins with all the other dollar days stuff.. they are $1.50 though, not $1.

Torilynn you got those dollar tree bags from the states, did you iron on transfer them or are you adding a tag?
