@ Cat 723.....Wow! That is so cool that you are one day before me. I am so ready. I am super stressed and keep having dreams about our wedding day. I am such a planner, so this destination wedding was hard for me. I am working on my welcome bags now. Are you ready? How has your correspondence with Janielle been?

My guests loved the resort!  I also thought the resort was great!  I think the service and quality of the resort made up for many of the issues (I was having too much fun and relaxing at the resort to worry about all the little details).

There were a few things I would have changed.  Like the Reverend who married us!  I think I had a different Reverend than the other 2 brides my weekend (because he told us that Sunday was the only day he was available to perform the wedding).  He was a little inappropriate, and kept telling jokes that were just not ok.  We met for him for 10 minutes, 5 days before our wedding and told him what we wanted.  We read his script and gave him the OK.  But the day of the wedding he went on a total tangent.  Several of my guests asked me "where did you find that guy?  Did you know he was going to say that?".  Also, there are details that I requested for the ceremony and "cocktail" party with a band that did not happen.  Janielle told me two hours before the ceremony that they couldn't be done.

I think if you're detailed oriented and diligent, these issues can be avoided.  I don't how to prevent an odd Reverend.  I think the resort has several they rely on for the weddings.  I did not think to ask him beforehand if he was going to tell inappropriate jokes.

Did you guests at least enjoy the resort?

Thanks for your honesty on all of this guys! Its super helpful to those of us that are planning. I was going to go with the 3,000 package as opposed to the free one. Would you recommend doing the free package or could your extra add ons been avoided had you booked the 3,000 package?

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the presidental suite? I can not wait to see pictures!  Also what is the difference between building 5 and 6? Thank you ladies so much for all of the feedback!!!

Yes, Leah my husband had a separate room the night before the wedding.

We did receive an upgrade as well. Like Leah said building 5 is better. Our upgraded room was in building 6 and we requested to switch. Ocean front and Ocean view (direct view of the ocean/front facing rooms) 3rd and up seemed to have smaller balconies (though still Huge). The higher floors all have Ocean view 3rd and up, though it may not be directly on, you can still see the ocean. If you book a standard suite, and request a high floor, you have a view of the ocean and pool with large balcony, which is even better.

For future Brides, if you can swing getting the Presidental Suite, I highly reccommend it! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! It was a nice touch to finish out our week there, as the last night we were able to have a final goodbye party with all of our guests. (I will include pictures in review)

I've read all over the place that building 6 is not nice, very old.

@tgreen  I am super stressed too, but I am the opposite, not the biggest planner.  Thank God for this site or I would have no idea what to do lol.  I have my OOT bags and welcome letter done.  Now I am working on the ceremony itself, readings and stuff.  Not quite sure what I am doing.  Janielle has been a little better since the time has gotten closer but she takes way too long to respond to emails, which is annoying.  How are you bringing everything down to Jamaica, are you shipping anything?

I spoke with my travel agent about shipping items and she advised against it. She stated she was currently hunting down a package listed as shipped and no one from the hotel could account for the package. I am packing my decorations, all glass items will be in my carry-on, God only knows what will become of the glass if I check it. Janielle takes a while to respond and Tai Flora takes three times as long. I've just resorted to calling Janielle and asking a list of questions at a time. Tai Flora actually call me last week, that was a surprise.

My wedding date isn't until September 2013 but I am still really nervous. I heard this resort is beautiful but I'm concerned about some of the bride's experiences with Janielle and their wedding planning. I'm really glad I started my research earlier to possibly prevent a few things from happening. I'm sad to hear that a few of you all were put in some pretty tough positions either the day before or the day of your wedding! It sounds like everything turned out okay though. I'm just going to take on the attitude that we all will have our own experiences and I'm going to try and have a plan B and possibly a plan C for everything! But I truly appreciate you all sharing your experiences with the rest of the upcoming brides to give us time to plan and prepare. I also saw on another site that building 6 is undergoing some renovations. They have replaced all of the carpet and are in the process of painting and adding more decor. Can anyone else confirm this???

Good attitude to take! You are right everyone has different experiences and if you go into it super prepared and organized you should not have any issues with Janielle. Yes you are correct, it did appear to be they are renovating building 6. But dont get me wrong building 6 is still gorgeous!! Building 5 just looks more brighter/newer or something (I can not place my finger on the difference), it may be due to building 5 side of the building getting more sun, I am not sure.
