What's happening in Mexico?

Whatever the issues are down there I think it's affecting travel prices...I'm getting married in October in RM and the prices today are about $200 less than they were last week. For example, it's $1026pp for 7 nights w/direct air from Chicago to Cancun. That is crazy cheap! I just emailed a bunch of my friends and told them to strike while the iron is hot...

There is the "airfare war" going on right now. Each airline averaged about 17% less revenue last month than January 2008. The prices are at rock bottom, in hopes that the airlines can just come out even pretty much

Any real problems are up by the border. I have been in Cabo for about 8 years & things are as great as ever. NO WORRIES.

Sadly, Mexico nowadays have been experiencing some a nasty "War on Drugs" (sounds familiar LoL). But anyways, even though this drug war is all over the country, Baja and Cabo are one of the safest places to be, maybe because we are so far away from the mainland, or because it's so much dessert that they can't grow weed here, jejejeje...But it's really safe, line everyone else said, stay on the safe side and you'll stay safe.

 

Like any other city in the world, Cabo has it's red areas, so, as in any other city in the world, don't go wandering to this area and don't go looking for trouble.

This is what's happening: We're having fun, endless sunny days, the usual Margarita, friendly people, gorgeous places to visit, tons of activities, relax, party, world class cuisine, here and there a celebrity, great shopping places, fabulous venues/hotels, amazing vendors... another Margarita... and yes, sometimes minor incidents like anywhere else in the world.
