Maple Leaf Foods Recalling Food AGAIN!!!

I just needed to vent, I dont know if any other Canadian girls on here have been affected by this recall...I dont think it affects the States, but I know it is driving me up the wall!! When the original food recall happened several months ago I stopped buying Maple Leaf products because people were dying from the listeria. And finally I have had the confidence to start buying from them again and today another recall has started and it is not known how many products will be done in the end but i am sick of throwing out food!

 

Sorry rant over. Just wasnt sure if this is bothering other people too as much as its bugging me??

You know what? I have stopped buying all their products since the first recall and refuse to ever buy anything from them again... no fear that way.. and besides I have gone mostly vegetarian so I don't have the worry about all the stuff that goes wrong with meat! I think they should just close for good... can't seem to keep their food in a healthy state!! LOL

its so true, they are obviously not capable of taking care of food properly!! I gave them a second chance because I know the daughter of the CEO of Maple Leafs so i felt bad thinking the first recall was a huge accident and they didnt realise there was a problem until it was too late. But I am just watching the dinner time news now and the Maple Leaf rep said they knew there was something wrong with the food that is being recalled today and they had the boxes off to the side so they wouldnt get sent out and some bone head sent the boxes out to grocery stores anyways!!

 

they are going to lose so much business over this! after so many problems they need to be alot more aware of what happens in their factories!! They have begged for forgiveness once, too bad for them that it wont work again! ugh you would think they would just get shut down by the Health Board because of this now

But seriously... what are they recalling this time? Im not too worried about getting sick with listeria, b/c Im not 80 or immuno-comprimsed -- however, a second recall just might be the end of Maple Leaf.

They are recalling hot dogs so far but apparently that list of items being recalled will grow in the next couple of days. I truly think they should be shut down for good though. They have already messed up once and the fact that they are doing it again is just pathetic.

This is so disgusting.....but I'm with Tracy S-AFter the first round of recalls, I have stopped buying all Maple Leaf products and will NEVER buy that brand again.

I have a feeling the show is over for that company. Consumer confidence is below low and there's no way they're going to be able to get that back. I had a job interview for a finance role there a few years ago...thank goodness I didn't take that job!

 

Good thing I only eat hot dogs I get from the US anyway. Mmmm ballparks!

I don't eat lunch meats or hot dogs, only sausages that are made by our local butcher of a baubau, and thats only on a good day. I'm not surprized that there is another recall, I kind of feel sorry for maple leadf. We were camping while the first outbreak occured and we watched the guy from maple leaf on tv and he was very upset that it was happening. What sucks is that it is happening. I just hope that they never recall bacan, especially canadian maple bacon from maple leaf. Mmmm, bacon.

Apparently this recall is purely due to human error (ie. sending quarnatined product out) and those individuals have been fired.
