any RIU Negril brides? questions!

Hi, you guys thanks for the information in this thread, I am also a Riu Negril B2b & get married 5th March 2010, there's alot of reviews for the ROR but not so many for the Riu Negril. I can now look forward to all your reviews and photo's.

This forum is so helpful! I am trying to find a location for a Negril wedding in April/May 2010 and RIU is one of my top choices right now (looking at both Tropical Bay and Negril). The only problem is I can't seem to be able to contact anyone there! I called the main RIU line and they gave me a number to Tropical Bay but no one ever answered. Can anyone here give me an e-mail address or a phone number that actually works?

I am very early in the planning stages but I am guessing we're going to have a pretty large group of 75-125 people. Does anyone know if they're able to accommodate so many? Thanks!!

i believe the RIU Negril can accomodate that amount of guests, but i'm pretty sure Tropical Bay does.

I agree we should meet up Inunez. I guess I probably did take your date sorry. I also am a fan of Riu's I've been to the one in Ocho Rios I wanted to have my wedding there but the date I wanted was already booked. I also went to the Riu palace in cancun mexico. So I new what I was getting myself into I just never been to the Riu in Negril. Dionne just informed me via email that she will be on vacation when I get to Jamaica I pray she will be there for your wedding I am truly not happy about this since i've been dealing with her for so long already. I also confirmed with her that the DJ will play whatever musice you give him and the bartenders will also be there included in the $150.00 we pay to rent the disco so thats exactly what i'm doing. We have three months to go are you excited?

omg... i can't tell you how excited i am!!! time is flying by and i still hoave so much stuff to do! my FI's in an accelarated masters program to become a teacher by September and he just called me to tell me he got an interview! i'm so excited...everythings falling into place! hopefully that leads to a job. just wanted to share... can you tell how excited i am lol!

 

changing emotonal gears - when is Dionne offcially on vacation?: o man..that's not good! i hope we get to meet who ever covers her so that person is clear on what they are doing!! i spoke to her via email today and she did not mention anything about vacation.:huh02

She told me she will be there when I get there but on my wedding day she won't be there so maybe she will be there for yours which is the day before mines. I am suppose to be getting a pay increase at my job I pray that falls through cause my FI was layed off from his major job and now he only works for Jet Blue airways part time so I was stressing about how we were going to pull of this wedding but God is good and things are coming into place so I am very happ and excited. I just can't wait to i'm on the plane on my way to Jamaica. Make sure you send your notirized copies of all the documents so you won't have no issue with your marriage license. How long are you staying in Jamaica. I will be there from the 12th to the 18th and then our honeymoon is in aruba from the 20th to the 24th. I am so happy I ran into you. Are you getting married on the beach or at the gazebo on land? I'm going to be standing by like one of the other people at the resort watching. I am counting down I'm so so so so excited.

hey Janice,

we're actually arrivng the 11th and are leaving the 18th. we're going to have a 2nd honeymoon sometime in February. my FI's gonna need to be back early so he can prepare for the school year...hopefully that does happen. we just found out that NY board of education is freezing new hires for now. so although he has an interview coming up...we don't even tknow if he can get hired! i really hope they lift this because otherwise we are not going to be able to afford renting an apt on this salary...

 

i sound so selfish though. sorry to hear about your FI losing his job! this economy stuff really sucks right now!! i really hope things get better b/c i'm seriously tired of this!!!

 

well when we get closer i'll let you know what room we'll be in so we can meet up - at least for cocktails! i'll be watching you on your wedding too! my FI wants to do the beach ceremony, but i don't want to set my sights on that just yet. i want to make sure it's a beautiful as it is in pictures first!
