I think I'm going to give a gag gift to whoever catches the bouquet... Perhaps making a shirt that says "I went to Bridget & Ryan's Wedding and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" (or something to that effect) with a picture of us in our wedding gown & suit--except that we are wearing our snorkel gear. :) What do you think?
That's exactly what we did. We only had 3 single women and 1 single guy in our entire group of 25 guests so we felt bad if we had to single them out (no pun intended). So we had all the women participate in the bouquet toss and all the men participate in the garter toss. Whoever won, they each got a t-shirt that said on the front "I went all the way to France for Grace & Mike's wedding..." And on the back "...And all I got was the Lousy T-shirt!"

It was a lot of fun for all and definitely made the event feel more like a wedding!

I have the same exact issue...there might be 1 or 2 out 50 people at my wedding who will be single. Things that two of my recently married cousins did....

Cousin #1 - She walked over to my other cousin who was engaged and the next one in line to get married and handed her the bouquet. She gave a nice little speech saying that was the next wedding everyone was going to, etc.. It was really beautiful caught the bride to be off guard and made everyone emotional - it was an awesome classy gesture.

Cousin #2 - This is the one who got the bouquet handed to her in cousin #1's wedding:) She made EVERYONE get up and catch the bouquet. The DJ made an announcement saying this is her day and she wants everyone out on the floor to catch the bouquet, no exceptions. People actually thought it was kind of funny that she did this and even the mom's were out there to catch it. She gave a prize to the person who caught it.

Whatever you do, you can't go wrong...

I went to a wedding where instead of a "toss", the bride had placed ribbons all around the bouquet and everyone had to hold an end (there was more ribbons so the more enthusiastic people held 2). Then at the same time we all pulled and one end was tied to the bouquet and everyone else's had cookie pops at the end. It was nice that everyone got something. You could do this with all your guests or your singles!

I'm glad this was briught up - at my wedding there's going to be 2 single girls (and they already decided among themselves which one is going to catch the bouquet) and one single guy - FI's 16 year old brother who would probably turn a wicked shade of red if he touched the garter.

I was thinking of doing sommething like asking who has been married the longest, and presenting them with the bouquet, and saying something about hoping that our marriage would be as happy and successful as theirs.

As for the garter...not sure yet.

Simba i like your cousin's ideas, so nice! i like that she made the girl next to be married feel special too. love it!

we think we might do the toss and have all the girls up and all the guys up and do the tosses and whoever catches gets a dance with us the bride/groom, to a song of our choice. maybe a super cheesy fun old school slow dance song or something. lol
