Floating lanterns

I really like these to float in the pool of our hotel but they are very expensive - any ideas how I would make them??

If you go onto marthastewart.com and look at her templates of lumiers you could just build a bottom on the lumiers and clue to pieces of wood so they float in the water. Or google home made paper lanterns and make them and put in those battery operated candles inside so you dont have a fire show in your pool.
