Non-All Inclusive hotels?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any non-all inclusive hotels to recommend? I've been asking my guests and it seems that since we're having the rehearsal dinner, the reception, and possibly a day-after breakfast/brunch, most of them seem to think they won't use the all-inclusive...

So, I'm wondering if any all-inclusives have a non-inclusive option for the guests who only intend to stay for 3 days or so...? Or if any of you have found the other chains, i.e. Westin, Marriott, Sheraton, to be a good option for your guests?

I know that I love visiting the tons of great restaurants in PV, so I usually don't do all-inclusives so that I can eat out as much as possible, but I know it can be the easiest option for most people. Anyways, any thoughts or recommendations would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Well, we haven't decided yet. We're getting married at a villa, so we'll likely have to stay there, either in the handful of days immediately prior or after. Other than that, we'll probably stay at the resort that we recommend for the guests.

At the end of the day, we'll probably recommend a bunch of places to stay, but direct the majority to a specific resort...

thanks for asking!

The Marriott is great - we did a group block of rooms and everything worked out for everyone really well. They are non-AI, but I do believe they have AI options available. The whole hotel just went through a renovation and looks great. The food is good, the staff is friendly and the pool is great. The ocean water in that area is not so hot, but the pool overlooks the ocean. Great for walks on the beach though.

Aye, so late in my response, but thanks to everyone for theirs!!!! I'm thinking of the Westin - we stopped by there right before we left and it was gorgeous!!!! Even though it's way out in the Marina, I think it's close enough to work. It's either that or the Marriott...the latter of which works well if guests have timeshares that they want to use.

Thanks again!!!

Question.. is it more expensive to go the non-AI route? Does it become more difficult as well in regards to the whole group? I think I would feel bad that if we're all out togetehr i wouldnt be picking up the tabs all the time.. but then again, we wouldnt be able to pay for everyone every time we're together. I think the AI makes more sense in a group setting.. but i too want to get married in a villa, but in Dominican Republic. I'm just afraid of what would happen when everyone's together & the bill needs to get taken care of. I mean, i am planning on taking care of a welcome party @ the villa, as well as a bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner & the wedding itself.. above that i can't do as we would be expecting about 100 people. Can anyone share how much their wedding came out to when going the non-AI hotel or villa route?

Thanks!!
