TTD Do or don't?

Recommended Posts

drtracy, why don't you have a ttd session after your ahr? It seems like a lot of people do it waaaay after the wedding, so you may as well wait too! I'm really disappointed that my dog won't be at our wedding (I know that sounds ridiculous, but my fiance used him to propose on our favorite beach that is also a dog beach) and so we're going to do TTD about 5 months after our wedding when we're visiting back home, so we can include the dog.

Basically, it's not hard to work TTD around whatever else you have going on :) May as well do it! The way I see it, I'm probably never going to wear the dress again, but I'll have wedding photos around the house forever, so I should try to get the best ones possible!

binzer - yeah, we talked a lot about doing it over the summer, thinking the weather should be nice here and everything. But, in the end, the beach of Lake Ontario, just not the same as the ocean. :)

I think we are definitely going to do it in Cancun, thanks for the reinforcement! I emailed 5 photographers yesterday and already heard back from 3. Excellent response times!

I say do it!!! I did it my actual dress and rinsed it off when we were done. My dresswas lace and it came out fine! The only issue is the sand that got in the liner of my dress and I had to make a little cut in the hem to shake it all out of the liner. My dress was really gross on the bottom after dancing it up on the wedding, but when I was done with the TTD it was as clean as new! I'm even wearing for my AHR in April without drycleaning it in between. Do it!! Do it!! Best pics ever!

I think I'm doing it. I've been scoping out ebay for a second dress in case I can't do it with the original one. At least I have a plan...that's a good thing the way things are going now. If I did do TTD with the first dress I'm afraid I would fall over because it is a pick up style with a cathedral train. Not the ideal beach wedding dress but I love it.

Okay, so now that I know what TTD means... here's what I think. The pictures that I've seen are creative and intimate. I agree that dress can be dry cleaned and mended if something were to happen to it. I love taking pictures so I will definitely be looking into to TTD.smile72.gif

I have to admit I wasn't going to do a TTD session. But after reading all of the posts and seeing some amazing pictures from TTD sessions in Jamaica, I think I'm going to try to talk my FI into doing this. Plus, it is not like I'm going to ever wear the dress again. But, then again, it doesn't sound like it necessarily ruins the dress.

I did a TTD session in Mexico last November. It was the brides one and only dress and she was planning to wear it back home for a party with the people who couldn't join them on the trip.

We kept it to the pool area so not to get it too "trashed". After everything was done, it dried in record time and she swore it looked nicer (whiter) and felt more comfortable after it had been through the TTD. The middle pic in the my signature was of the very last second of the dress before it entered the pool. All the guys suites and brides maids dresses were also fine after.

Don't let the "trash" in trash the dress mislead you, no dresses need be harmed in the making of great photographs. But if you are ok with it, all the better cheesy.gif
