All Maggie Sottero brides post here

Everyone's dresses are so beautiful! I go tomorrow for my first fitting! I'm not so excited for this one. I know the dress does not fit. I'll be more excited for the next fitting after they chop it up. I can't wait to see what it will actually look like on me finished!

I had sewn in cups and I am so happy that I did. I did not have to worry about fiddling with a bra once I slipped my dress on and I also did not have to worry about it showing. Congrats!

I'm kinda worried that the sewn in doesn't do a good job of keeping the girls up. Anyone have problems with that?

I had cups sewn into my grad dress. I wasn't a big fan. Sure, I didn't need a bra, but they just move weird and they don't really look natural. I think the bigger your breasts the more forgiving these cups are. I'm a 34A so I don't think I'll be going that route again. As for keeping them up, I don't really have anything to keep up so I can't answer that question haha, sorry. How about getting them sewn in and then if you don't like them you take them off?

I'll be wearing my DREAM dress: Maggie Sottero, Mia!

I lucked out. I randomly went out, not planning to try on dresses, because my mother is frugal. So we had gone to five stores, not one, or two, but FIVE different stores to get prices. Seriously mom, enough was enough (but not I'm grateful we did!) Finally, the last store, always happens, having tried on ZERO dresses at prior stores, I walked into a retirement sale (a store going out of business) where a lady asked me what I was looking for & as I replied that I really wasn't, she continued asking about my style (which I didn't see anything else I liked) & said "there is ONE dress & ONE dress only, but no stores in this area carry this designer" she asked me who & told me her story, that she knew Maggie & worked at one of her fashion shows (or something like that) in 2010 & had quite a few dresses. My mom & I didn't believe her. We accused her of having fakes, the lady sort of got mad, but she understood where we were coming from after she knew I had done my research! She went & search & found that they had THE dress in MY size! I tried it on, I had to! I saw the price tag of $1,700, which was fine with me anyway, it was my dream dress, I just needed mommy dearest to see this was my dress! As I was giving my mom the eye, the lady said "and don't forget 50% off because we're closing & let me tell you, you can't get discounts on her dresses unless the store is going out of business!" It was like $700. Seriously, I HAD to get it.

I haven't had any alterations done, which the wedding is 5 months away. I NEED to get on that. & since the store is closed I need to find someone who does it, with a dress from outside, which is hard to do. & since I moved in with my FI, I don't know where the list of people are that the store gave to me (damnit!)

I did have the cups sewn into my Maggie sottero Alexa dress. I'm happy with the cups, but so upset about alterations my dress is dirty and has a couple minor stains, one looks like lipstick, which I never wear. A tiny hole in the chiffon train and they missed a pleat in the top. Now for some reason it dents wierd at my hips, even though they did not alter that part. I'm discussed with the shop I went to. Very rude people every time i ask a question. I knew I should have ordered the smaller size, but they were very insistent that I needed to order a 4. I'm convinced now it was for the alteration money. I took my dress home afraid something might happen to it. I'm supposed to take it back to be steamed, so I plan on going back when I know the manager will be there. I'm so disappointed. If I'm spending $1300, in your store you should treat me and my purchase with some respect. The dress should have been perfect. It's a brand new dress!

I ordered my "Adara" dress at the end of January. They told me to expect it at the end of July. I'm really excited. I'm not much of a crier, generally... but I actually started to tear up befor eI even got out of the dressing room to show my "group." It was pretty telling that that was my dress.

I haven't seen my dress in like 5 months (I held off on ordering too early...) and I have zero dress remorse. I still love my dress.
