Has anyone heard of this site? It says it's australian and the prices are in australia dollars. I've found 4 of what I've looked at on the site. Does this mean they have already made them, or that they will make them?

What are the other ones? I know there is babyonline, jasmines and dressilyme. What am I missing? I'm really getting intrigued by this and wondering if it's worth just going ahead and ordering something and seeing how it turns out.

That may be one of the shops that basically takes your money and then orders your dress from a Chinese vendor, adds a surcharge and sends it out as their own. I don't know... You can tell whether it's In stock, by looking at the estimated shipping times. I think they all say how long it will be.

Lace Marry and Cara Bridal (both on Etsy) seem to be getting some more chatter on other forums lately as well- both fairly new, and feedback has been mixed.

I was just on the Jasmine site, and I'm honestly not sure I like what I see. Their prices are definitely higher but does that really mean you're getting something better? Thankfully I have time on my side, but I can see this is going to need more investigating. My only catch to the site I posted earlier was that they will only do white, ivory and champagne and a couple of the dresses I'm in love with are blush pink. Hopefully I will get to see some orders over the next couple of months to see how they turn out.

If you get a chance, read through this thread- it's a lot of reading but you will see the quality differences etc between all the companies and help you with a decision. Also weddingbees has a ton of brides who are very active and post mid-production and final pics for people.,, which i found helpful.

The big thing I think is to give whomever you choose a TON of time to make your dress and give them a "fake wedding date" to ensure it comes early enough for alterations etc.

Jasmines is probably the way to go... But they will be a bit more expensive than babyonline. Other option is carabridal on etsy. I would stick with jasmines though since all the work they do in lace is pretty.

I've ordered and received my second dress from Dressilyme, but that doesn't mean I stop looking at dresses! I often get frustrated that dressmakers don't provide pictures of their work even though they have made at least 5 of the same dress in the past. Anyways, I noticed there is an Etsy dressmaker that posts her actual work. Have a look and see what you think: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/amazingbridalscom?ref=shopsection_shophome_leftnav

wow her work looks really good!! beautiful!!

  • 1 month later...

I am considering buying a knock off dress because the original dress I purchased is 6 sizes too big. The problem it, may not be here in time (according to the sales people). Anyone have any good links to some knock off sites? The ones mentioned in the earlier thread are no longer available.

Thanks
