@@acw271011 @@acw271011 - I didn't even look at this thread until after I had bought my dress! I might have gone this route otherwise. I'm very happy with my dress though and I got it for an extreme discount so I can't complain. Some of my FI's friends that are getting married this year have spent almost 10k on dresses :S.

I was up til 3am last night reading this thread haha. Some of the dresses are really beautiful and some came out really badly. I think it really is about going to the right dress maker and also choosing a dress that won't be impossible to replicate.

I just want a cheapy second dress now, but I'd prob go with Jasmine's if it was my actual dress!

I actually found my dress on Carabridal (!), and it's listed for $200 CDN. The baby online Reem Acra one is about $115 CDN. Hmm - decisions decisions :)

I think some of the bad outcomes happen when people want to either change the style too much and the results dont result in how they envisioned, or they dont communicate clearly/politely. Most I have seen that took their measurements correctly and corresponded nicely, got pretty fantastic results!

I like "Your dress" better than the Reem Acra... they are both pretty but the sequin on yours is breath taking and the blush color would be amazing. I think $200 is great for that dress... I would do it!!!

I am leaning that way! I love it too and considered it for my actual dress, but I couldn't find anywhere to try it on

Baby online said they could do it for $149! Which would you go with based on what you've read about Baby online and Cara Bridal?

Does the babyonline version give you photos at mid-production? If so, I would go with them.. they sound like a great company from everything I have read (And I have been madly reading since this is my route for my dress. Im paying for my BM dresses too since i feel guilty having to spend so much already to attend the wedding, so I am having them choose a style and will be sending the order- babyonline seemed to do a great job on the flowy dresses for sure. just make sure you send them a zillion pictures you can find online of every angle and close up- and do your measurements with someone who can do them exactly- and I think you will be uber happy!! I cant wait to follow your process! Make sure you keep posting here to keep everyone up to date on the progress. This thread was really active for a while, but seems quiet lately- maybe you will change that! HAHA

@@kmk2016 - I've just inquired about pics and will update once I hear. The DH Gate site is kind of a pain because it says you can only upload 4 pics at once, and it looked like none of them got uploaded so I could only send a link of the actual designer website. Maybe I'll upload all the pics I've found somewhere and direct them there.

I'm a bit torn on dress style because I'd love to wear the sequin one as a reception and TTD - only thing is we will likely have to do our TTD before the wedding. We're getting married on a Friday and leaving Sunday. Saturday the photographers usually have other weddings to shoot, so we were thinking to do it on the Weds or Thurs before the wedding. I'm not sure if the dress would be wearable after the TTD. This one also is prob. too revealing for a church wedding too unless I wore it with some type of shrug/bolero thing. Hmm...

Once you agree to have them make your dress, they should give you an email you can use to correspond direct with someone at babyonline... then you can attach your photos and close ups of details. In your general email through dhgate, have babyonline give you an email address that you can use to send photos.

Hmmm thats tough!!! are you sure they wouldnt make time for a TTD early morning on Saturday? Im sure they would if you book it ASAP!

@@kmk2016 - Yes, I've asked if they have a separate email I can send them pics through. Will see how they respond

We already have our photographer booked and he of course prefers that we do it another day as he reserves Saturdays for weddings (I don't blame him). We're in Cancun next month and he's going to take engagement pics of us. I'll ask him then if he has no other weddings booked for that Saturday to do our TTD that day which would be perfect. It's the Saturday right before Christmas so we might get lucky with that. Haha i'm not sure how my FI will feel about waking up early Saturday morning after the wedding though. I'm sure he's going to be very hungover. I'll see how it plays out. The dress is made of chiffon and sequins, so it might be fine in the water?

Easy solution of course is to buy MULTIPLE dresses haha... but not sure the FI will feel about that!

Get posting! It's worth it to see the dresses! As for your question- I haven't read about them and I've read ALL the posts hahaa (I got addicted)... I would recommend using a more popular company though- they can replicate any dress, so don't be worried about only seeing it with one company! I would check how much some other companies would charge for it!

Does anyone ever pick a dress that's already on the site? And not something they suggest to them? I saw the dress originally on pinterest, so I've never seen it in person. Do most brides go to the stores, try on the dresses and then mark down the styles, and THEN go online and find it?

And thanks @@kmk2016, I will definitely go for a more reputed site!!
