I agree with buying a knock off for trash the dress portraits as I would be heartbroken if I destroyed the real dress! I plan to buy a Inbal Dror, Grace loves Lace, or a Katie May for the special day!

Hello ladies, I haven't had time to read through this whole thread (!), but was wondering for a few recommendations of reputable dress makers?

I've emailed Jasmine's Bridal, Dressilyme, Baby online and gianinarbridal so far. Are there any others that are generally recommended? Jasmine quoted me $380 which is higher than I'd like, and I'm still waiting on the other 3. This is for a reception/TTD dress so I want to keep the price lower. Thank you!

Jasmines seems like they are the most expensive out of the more reputable ones, but it's largely because of their expertise in lace and beading. If your dress is more simple I have heard great things about dressilyme and babyonline. These are both companies I'm considering for our BM dresses. gianair was really popular a few years ago but I haven't heard much lately about them. I will be really interested in hearing what their quote is like!

In any company I would ensure they will send at least one set of photos to review progress before finishing. It seems this is a great way to eliminate any confusion or disappointment.

@@kmk2016 - Thanks for the tips! The dress I want is fairly simple - no beading or lace (just sequins and chiffon). I don't want to spend a ton because it's not my actual wedding dress, and might end up getting wrecked during my TTD

I'm also now looking at a Reem Acra replica and babyonline has one, as does light in the box! I'm going to pull up some searches and see what I can find for reviews

haha I think I found the gianair name on an older thread! I'll post once I get the quote from them

Ah Dressily doesn't think they'll be able to replicate the dress I wanted! Jasmines wanted $380 + $30 for the photo service - a lot higher than I wanted. Waiting on babyonline now, otherwise I might have to go toward a different dress. I thought this dress would be fairly easy to construct, but maybe that isn't the case? Attached pics if anyone has any dress knowledge

I'm also thinking about the Reem Acra dress Olivia Wilde wore and babyonline or light in the box already has it in their repertoire and it's super cheap! Any advice about colour? I'd want this one for our actual church wedding ceremony at home and our TTD pics. Torn between the silver shown, ivory or a blush pink hmm (I also kind of love the red but that would prob be a big no for the church!)

Try carabridal as well- heard good things. I'm surprised they couldn't replicate for you... It seems pretty straight forward!

It's sooo pretty!

they're both really pretty!!

I took a look at babyonline last night and was somewhat surprised by what I saw. I'm starting to seriously consider one of these sites. The dresses I'm looking at are running in the range of $1400 so some savings would be nice. One of them is on the babyonline site and it's like less than $200 so I'm sort of thinking what the heck. spend a little bit of money. if it's good, great and if it's not, then no big loss. But I would like to go to a salon I think and try some on first to see what I really like and I'm still a few months away from that.

Yup/ this is my plan too. I'm definitely going replica route after reading this entire thread and reading a very active/long thread on the weddingbee forum on the topic. I will go shopping to make sure the dresses I love actually look as great on as I hope and then will work with these companies to custom build my perfect dress to my measurements. I'm going to order early... So if God forbid, anything goes wrong- I can have time for plan B, but I'm confident they will do the job!
