But I saw most brides have actually custom ordered their draw whether it was style or size. I'm a pretty everage size and was just thinking of ordering a regular size. I only saw one post that said to order one size bigger so that I can make alterations if necessary.

So my questions:
Has anyone ordered a regular size from their charts?
Should I order a size bigger that what I normally am?
Is it easy to make he alterations once I have the dress here in the US? I would assume as long as I find a good seemstress/tailor I should be ok right?

Thanks again!

You're better off getting the dress custom made to your size.  Alterations can be very expensive.  To just hem my chiffon dress, it was $175...  And then one side is shorter then the other!!  So I took it elsewhere and had it taken in at the sides for $60 but she couldn't fix the bottom.  Made me wish I had actually just ordered my dress from Babyonline instead.

@Tinkerbell82 Wow, that looks REALLY good. I noticed on some dresses that lace edging is sewn in, but sewn so well  you can't tell it's a separate fabric from the chiffon. You should check with the seamstress and see if it is indeed separate, maybe she can still shorten it. Or she might be able to shorten it from the waist.

I think your dress actually looks better than the inspiration pics. :)

Thanks so much! Yes, I was really impressed with the lace on the bottom.  It came out better than expected. :)

Thanks!  I will take it to a seamstress and see how much that would be. :)

So now (of course) I'm considering getting another, more elaborate dress made and using one for TTD.  I sent Sunny another dress pic today. :)

Why would you get a bigger size dress when you have the luxury of getting a custom made to your measurement dress? alterations are expensive, it could be more than the dress itself.

Sideways!  Sorry, but this should give you a good idea.

For the price I'm really happy with the way it came out.  My only issue is that its a bit too long, and with the lace bottom I can't shorten it.  Aside from that though I had a great experience with Babyonline!

I am hesitant to begin doing any alterations/changes based on all the feedback on this blog. Seems that all issues reported with any vendor were size and alterations. Maybe it's just me but once I start expecting perfection I may just be disappointed. Instead if I get a cookie cutter size I know I have my alteration options at home. Also based on my measurements it is very close to their charts. Am I crazy??

If you are expecting perfection perhaps ordering a dress online is not for you.  These are replica dresses and will not be 100% like the original and not 100% perfect.

I ordered from Jasmines and did custom measurements.  I went in to the process still expecting to have some alterations done because of the way we measured and I would need a bustle added anyway.  The dress showed up and fit great!  I had the bustle added and just a small gather fixed on one side.  All in all it was at least 10x cheaper to order it to my measurements than to have it done after the fact.

I would order custom measurements and just like the rest of the process don't expect perfection realize that there may be some differences, alterations, etc but you are saving a TON in the end!

Have you tried on any dresses in a store?  I did, and they all had to be clipped / fitted to see what they look like on me.  You have to expect that you may need alterations with any dress.
