Jasmine's Bridal Called Me!!!

So I sent Jasmine's my last revisions and I had already mentioned to them about me being on a time crunch because SOP screwed me over. Lisa sent me an email around 1:30am saying that she had gotten the revisions but it would take extra time to do the skirt portion and that they want to make sure I get it on time. I shot her an email back and asked how much extra time.........Fast forward to me getting up at 3:30am because I couldn't sleep. James (I think that's Lisa's husband) sends me an email and asks if he could give me a call. I sent email back giving him phone number and within 30 minutes he called me.

We talked on the phone for an entire hour and he went over every possible scenario for the bottom of the dress, telling me what the production time would be and giving me alternatives. I coudln't believe he was being so patient. He said it was important that he called because he saw in the notes that I was on a time crunch and he just wanted to make sure I got my dress exactly the way I wanted it without being too stressed and being confident that I would get a beautiful dress. He informed me of the risk I was running (well not necessarily the "risk") but what the dress would look like if I added "a couple of layers of ruffles" at the bottom as I had indicated. He gave me quite a few options. He told me that while it was 5:30am here in the U.S., it was 5:30pm there and it was at the end of their work day and the workers were going home. He said for me to find pictures of several options of how I wanted the bottom and send them to him. He said he would be sending me an email and consistently checking his email for the pictures. He even said I could give him a call back (which I won't be doing because calling to Jamaica is high enough......can you say "calling to China???? LOL)

I told him I was really impressed by the customer service and he said that because time was of the essence he knew he needed to speak to me to make sure the dress was being recreated like I wanted it. He said their dress shop used to be in the United States so they are all about customer service, unlike some Chinese dress shops. He even said he knew about the FB page that someone had set up warning people against Shades of Pale and that they had posted. He says they have worked with a lot of brides that got scammed by Shades of Pale.

Now off to find out how I want the bottom of this dress!

Can you please give me his name? Is it Chinese name?

Yep, I ended up asking them to do an understated sweetheart neckline as I'm not a huge fan of the really round sweetheart necklines that they usually do. I also changed the ruching, which they did and here's the result.

I'm really happy with it! Like many other brides on this forum, I highly recommend them. The only advice I have is to make sure to point out everything that you don't like with the mid production photos, no matter how minor it is. This is the third set of mid production photos they have sent me, which shows how accomodating they are.

Fabulous!!! I really like the style of the ruffles too!

I upgraded the fabric to designer grade (which is an extra 35%) and kept workmanship at premium grade. Including the sequins on the ruffles, a petticoat, chapel veil and shipping, it came to a total of $895. However, I paid via western union so got an extra $5% discount.

Engbe, who ordered the same dress as me, did it all in premium grade without the sequins so hers was a lot cheaper.

Do you know who the designer of your inspiration dress is Lillianm80? If so, I'd go to Jasmine's website and see what their prices are on theres. Otherwise, I'd send them an email and get them to quote you a price.

Just received my Jasmine's dress and it looks cheap and is unwearable and I am so disappointed.  With only 3 months until my wedding I am out $850 and out of time... Part of the problem is I tried on the original designers dress and it just doesn't compare, not even close.  I ordered from Jasmine's since Lazaro discontinued the design I had tried on and fell in love with, so I wanted a replica.  It looks so cheap and I paid for all the extra upgrades to ensure the best craftsmanship.  I am out of time and out of $$ now and don't know what I am going to do for my wedding dress!  Take my advice and buy locally, so you know what you are getting...!  Don't do it!

Can you post pics? I would love to see what you're seeing. Were you happy with your mid production photos?

I'd also like to see photos.  What was cheap looking about it?

Does anyone have any advice on what I should ask of the dress maker? Any suggestions on tried and true dress makers? Thanks!

I have ordered this exactly dress from Jasmines.  I originally went with Shades of Pale, gave them a fake wedding date, and never received the dress.  Jasmines is being wonderful.  I'm supposed to get the gown in a few weeks more.  One thing I suggest is finding somewhere to try the original on.  I was surprised by the fit and shape of this gown.  The model must be 6' tall, because the bodice actually falls much lower than it appears and can make you look really short.  I have a short upper body and long legs, so I'm glad that I was able to try it on in store and see how it fits my body type.  I might not have noticed otherwise that the bodice was too long in the photos Jasmine's sent me.  The dress is costing just over $400, including shipping.
