I loved my shades of pale dress. You have to give them a deadline about 2 months before your wedding. thats what I did. Darran and I didnt get married until May 12th but I told them I got married the end of April so I knew I would have my dress. I went with the best quality they offer. I paid 405 dollars for my dress. My dress at the local bridal salon was 950. I say its worth it. I would do it over again... With Shades of Pale!

Hi there! Your dress turned out great! It looks perfect on you! I am new to this site , so forgive me if this question seems silly. When you worked with this company did you send them a picture of the dress you were looking for or did you pick it based on something you saw on their site? I'm looking for a specific dress to be made. Any help would be appreciated!

MsMadrid,

I think all 3 dresses are beautiful. If you are having a beach wedding, the third might blow in the wind better for great pictures. The second one is interesting, but something about the headband/braced hem disturbs me. The first one is pretty, too!

I hope that helps.

Hey Ladies!!!! I am getting married on 8/18/12 and I purchased my dress from simplybridal.com and I LOVE IT!!!! I decided to go with them because they are based in USA (California).  I wanted to be able to contact them and most of the overseas dress shops you can't........  So, I received my dress (that my husband took the measurements for) and it is stunning! Excellent quality and perfect fit.  I got the Sirena gown with custom alterations for about $300.

I will post pictures when I get back from the wedding.

Good Luck all

Hi All!

So I decided to go with Gianinar Bridal.  I sent the money and measurements Friday, June 1st.  I got an email back within 20 minutes saying they would start my dress the next day and it will take 40-45 days.  They will send pictures when it's finished.  It's going to be a long 45 days!

This is me in the dress I chose at David's Bridal.  It's an Oleg Cassini.  I couldn't see spending $1250 plus alterations on a dress I will be wearing for 5 hours.

Fingers crossed that they come close to the original.  Thanks again to all who posted their knock off experiences.  It really did help me decide on my dressmaker.

Hi ladies,

I made the mistake of going to a pretty pricey place and fell in love with two VW dresses (very similar dresses)...obviously cannot even afford one of them...through google I eventually came to this forum and am amazed at the quality of some dresses from pictures I saw on this post..

based on all the reading, it seems like Jasmine is a good store?

VW Flora: http://www.jasminesbridalshop.com/index.php?task=productdetail&id=5938

VW Felicity: http://www.jasminesbridalshop.com/index.php?task=productdetail&id=5934

they do carry the two dresses I like...but it seems to require a little more intricate work than other dresses around the bodice area..do you guys think they will be able to do it?
also...is it best to call/email them first?

finally, I noticed that there's a lot of options you can do, like choosing "designer fabric" and "designer grade" craftsmanship...for like a lot more $...but did anyone ever chose that and was it worth it?

Thanks a bunch!!
