( I had pictures of 3 different dresses and I went into.great detail witghtext boxes, arrows, etc. explaining what I wanted).

I have since changed my mind and yet again I sent her a completely different mock up (I'm sure this the one!). She asks several questions and she always repeats the information back to me in her correspondence to insure clarity.

Here is the dress I will be ordering:

The first three pics are of the top of the dress (I will have a hook and eye closure on the neck strap instead of having it hang down my back). The fourth pic is how the bottom of the dress will look. It will start further below my knees (mermaid style) and the pleats will alternate with the same tulle in the bodice and the stretch satin in the top part of the skirt.

She told me it would take 6 weeks to make. I would really like to find a short reception dress for them to make also since she told me that there is a discount for ordering 2 dresses.

@Minx,

Zimo's work looks amazing. IMHO, go for it!

I think there were a few ladies from another board who ordered from him. Let me give you the links of his work.

Hi rawalter,

Yup I have seen their page on Facebook and I appreciate how they post photos of their work.

The information you've provided has been super helpful. I think premium grade would be sufficient for me since the styles I am looking at are not that complicated. No lace or tons of beading or appliques or anything like that.

They have great communication too. I just paid the remaining balance and they said three days to do a quality inspection then they ship it. I can expect it 5-7 days after that! I can't wait:) I don't know if you seen it but there's a link on their site to Facebook where they show all of the dresses they made

Wow congrats on losing so much! It must have taken a lot of hard work and discipline! It's been tough for me to eat healthier seeing that it's the holiday season and there's so much yummy and unhealthy/fattening food everywhere.

Hope the alterations go smoothly for you!

Unfortunately i have to get it altered, i have lost 20+ pounds since i got measured, and even with the corset back its two inchs too large. getting it taken in locally  it fits. i am so pleased with Jasmines and would HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Just more fodder for the forum, but I contacted inweddingdress.com and shades of pale. Both got back to me within a day. Inweddingdress provided a VERY cheap quote, but did not read my notes and requests for clarification on the fabric options available.

Shades of Pale, on the other hand, emailed me back and asked to clarify a some details on the very same description that I provided inweddingdress. I already feel more confident in shades of pale than I do anyone else. I can't wait to see the final quote from them!

Hey girls, Sorry I've been MIA.  The last time I posed I wrote about how I hated my babyonline dress. After shoving it in my parent's closet and deciding to never see it again, I realized it was time to start shopping for another dress.  I really considered buying a replica dress, but ended up giving in and buying a Priscilla of Boston dress I fell in love with. (BTW, While I was there I saw the Vera Wang Diana, and I guess I'm over it.  Maybe I judged my replica dress too harshly, I think it's partially because I decided it's not the dress for me.) Anyway....moving on to this babyonline dress, like I said before, I do have to give them credit for pulling off such a beautiful skirt.  I sincerely think they did an EXCELLENT job of recreating the David's Bridal VW351011 dress, but I didn't want to buy the original one because I wanted a sweetheart neckline and the DB one doesn't have boning to support making these alterations.  I think my mistake was asking them to make a corset back.  I figured it would help make up for any sizing mistakes, but instead they made the dress too big, even when I tried to get the corset tight. The inside of the dress is beautiful, very well made, has a built-in strap for extra support. The top of the dress has a double layer of fabric to get the pleated look, but the top layer seems to be too detached to the bottom one in certain sections.  It sticks out a bit.  Again, I would not get that type of design from Babyonline.  Look for dressmakers that can do nice even pleats in an organized manner.  Also, the transition from the top of the dress to the skirt was poorly made and not thought out.  They should have added one flat layer of organza to cover to give it a smooth look. There were minor mistakes throughout the dress (colored fabric/string that was stuck inside the organza folds, small tears) but none of these are visible once it's on. It still bothered me because I felt that they should have taken their time to put the dress together and make sure it was clean. Also, I ordered a belt that they said was "high quality" and it's honestly crap.  It look NOTHING AT ALL like what I ordered and some beads were falling off.  I don't think they even bothered to make it similar to what I ordered.  It's not "similar" or even "close", it's just flat out a belt that they made however they wanted to threw it in there.  I'm so disappointed about this, that it just did it for me.  It was so mad.  If they would have sent me pictures before they shipped it, I would have asked them to redo it or ask for my money back, which, I'm guessing, is why they didn't do it.  They also told me it was a mistake from the warehouse to ship it and that they fired the person...mhm...I've heard that excuse before.  I'm now disputing this through DHgate, not an easy process, but when I asked Babyonline for a refund they said they would only do half.  I said I was fine with half of the price of the dress, but I wanted a full refund for the belt because it's nothing like what I ordered.  They basically said no.  I gave in because in the end it was only a couple dollars more, so I agreed to half then they said half back, partially in cash and the other part in store-credit. WTF???? NO! Then they said "ok, let us check with the manager".  Which I think is BS.  So I opened a dispute. Here are the pictures: 1000x500px-LL-40eff4ea_Thumba_2011-06-17_14-36-58.jpg 1000x500px-LL-281f60ca_27.jpg I didn't take picture of the belt, I just decided to not look at it, I was so mad.  But I'll show some more pictures since I need to send them in for the dispute.
sorry to hear about your experience with this seller. thanks for posting pics cause it really helps show what they did wrong

Hi ladies! I made a post a while ago about fushopping.com where I ordered my dress, and I got my pics from them today!  I'm so excited!  I figured I would share in case another bride is thinking about using this company, they are great!  Customer service is quick, you can even chat online with them at certain hours of the day, and they're great to deal with!  I'll stop typing now, because I know you ladies are all about the pictures: 1000x500px-LL-fa972728_dressback.jpg Back of the dress 1000x500px-LL-ff5df7e1_dressfront.jpg Front detailing 1000x500px-LL-de825332_Neckline.jpg Neckline detail 1000x500px-LL-0d136100_Waistband.jpg Waist detail I'm so excited!  I can't wait to get it in person!  And I got a steal of a deal, especially with all the embroidery! (Which I think they do by hand.  I know the beading is all done by hand at least!)  I'm done gushing, I'm just really in love with the pics they sent me :woot:
My dress from Babyonline arrived today!!!  There are a few minor things that I don't like, but I didn't have high expectations as it was.  The dress is a knock off of Pronovias Fusta and cost $147 US, customs & duty was an additional $130.  Sorry about the pictures, I was home alone and had no one to lace up the back properly for me so the fit isn't the best but it will give you an idea. 1000x500px-LL-7226ef8b_fusta.jpeg The Original 1000x500px-LL-9084090b_100_0248.JPG The knock off, hate the ruffle around the waist, but that should be pretty easy to remove.
thanks for posting the photos of more babyonline dresses!

Hello ladies… so Iâ€m finally home and tried on my dress…and I have to say: I loooooooooove my dress!! As you might remember, I ordered my replica dress from bigdaydress. They used the same satin material like the original dress I tried on in the store… totally loving it! Itâ€s maybe 1 size too big though, but thatâ€s easy to fix – better than not fitting in the dress at all, right? :) My FI measured me that day, so the sizing could also be our mistake. So here are the steps of my process – and hopefully it will help some other ladies on the board with their decision and dress hunt: 1. I tried on the original dress in the store. Therefore, I knew how it would look and fit on my body and how the material felt like, etc… 2. I did check out discount websites like recycle bride, etc…but what are the chances of having them sell the same dress in the same color in my size, right? I also checked out “cheaper†bridal stores like Davidâ€s Bridal or Alfred Angelo, but didnâ€t like any of their dresses and didnâ€t want to just settle for a dress. 3. since my wedding is not til May 2012, I had plenty of time to check out vendors…and even if this dress was messed up, I still have plenty of time to order another one… I contacted like 5-6 dress makers that were recommened on this thread, e.g. giannar bridal, jasmine bridal (they were more expensive), jeff liu (he quoted me $400), monicaâ€s bridal (slow response, even though cheap), babyonline (fast response, but hasnâ€t created a similar dress for other customers before), etc 4. since I wanted some changes to my dress (no shoulder strap, add beadings), I actually inserted my dress pic from the store to a word document, then draw lines of where the beading should be, I added comments to it, etc… you have to keep in mind, that these dress makers are from China and english are not their first language… and since they canâ€t read my mind – I figured, Iâ€ll put a lot of details in my instructions as possible and visuals are more helpful than words alone. 5. I sent them pic of the beading that I would like on the dress. 6. I requested approval pics BEFORE they send out my dress. Why did I choose Bigdaydress? Because I read on other wedding forums (The Knot, wedding bee) great reviews about them. I also asked all the dress makers for pictures of similar dresses that they have created for other customers and bigdaydress sent me several pictures from different clients. And as a customer, I really like it, when they respond to me quickly as bigdaydress did. It made me feel confident and even after I paid for the dress, their customer service response was still fast. I ordered the dress in Mid July, received my approval pics a month later and once I gave them my OK, they shipped it out right away. So it took about 1.5 months to get my dress (of course, I also ordered it during a month, where there are no big holidays in China – so not a busy season). Now that Iâ€ve tried on the dress, I donâ€t feel like itâ€s cheap at all…I donâ€t think, anyone can tell if my dress was made in China or if I bought it here. And even though I only paid $369 (original dress was $1400)!! I donâ€t think, you can get a dress like that for less than $400 at Davidâ€s Bridal, do you? :) I also have to thank the ladies on the board here… without these reviews, I probably would have never even thought about getting a replica dress… i was too nervous ordering a replica dress – but after reading all these great reviews from other brides, I figured, Iâ€ll give it a try. And now, Iâ€m presenting you my dress… what do you think? Hope you like it as much as I do… Original dress: 350x700px-LL-c991caee_3170-012.jpeg some wrinkles on the dress because of shipping, but totally loving it otherwise: 350x700px-LL-ea66e2e3_IMG_0322-Copy.jpeg350x700px-LL-af91b752_IMG_0340-Copy.jpeg
Thanks for posting photos of your dress! I will have to consider bigdaydress as another seller to contact!
