I had been to David's Bridal and about 1/2 dozen other bridal stores before I decided on my dress design.  Take pictures.  Some styles I thought would look great didn't and the style I went with ultimately surprised me!

Amazing.  I have opted to try on dresses (sample sale) and if I find the right one that is outside how much I want to spend, I will definitely be looking to get it online.

Again.... The dress is amazing and it looks great on you.  Cheers to you for knowing what you want and getting it done without outside influences deterring you from doing it your way.smile159.gif

wow, the dress looks great! love the lining, looks really professional and well made. no one would ever guess you paid less than $300 for it!

here in Brazil, wedding gowns are extremely expensive - I mean it. it's virtually impossible to get a dress here for less than $1.000 and still, the fit and the quality of the materials is not good. so I feel great about the possibility of getting a knock-off dress from China. woot.gif

anapoa27, Thank you! I feel I got a great deal too cause the inspiration dress here is about $1,600 to $2,000 CAN dollers. Since I didn't go to the bridal stores I can't compare to the inspiration dress but I do know the price range of the inspiration dress and I'm happy with th quality of my dressilyme.  I hope my review helped you with your research on Knock-off dresses.

Thak you ginger1961! I thought it was great that they at least took the time to put in a fabric bag too. Professional measurements are in important like others have said before but dressilyme did a great job at matching the measurments  correctly. I still plan on pulling it in tighter though.

Thank you very much dshane! It is true that I never tried on a single wedding dresss in stores or even went to the bridal stores. However, I looked at thousands of dresses online and my mum/friends  and I talked about different styles of dresses and how they would look on me. Everyone was so nervous for me because they thought i should at least try on dresses but I decided to really focus on designers that make a range of sizes like maggie sottero, bonnie bridal, morie lee, Sincerity and Callista for brides with Curves.  LIke Misskim said it might be a good idea to take pictures while you are at the bridal store so that you are positive about the style . I read this entire thread numerous times for about a year and half now. I also read posts on weddingbee and project wedding. Everytime someone said a new seller I did my own research. I focused on which sellers who got measurements right and structure support on a regular bases. Then I looked at what people said about materials like beads and fabric. Like you said "know what you want and get it done without outside influencing deterring you. Please do your own research and don't rely on just a few opinions. But i do hope that this has helped a little with nerves and fears!

So I was able to take more photos of the dress. I could not lace it up myself and I just realized that I'll be by myself that day getting ready so if any one will be visiting vegas at that time, let me know!

Anyway, I'd like some feedback.  I'm happy with the overall quality and fit.  The dress under the rosettes is not the same color and I was thinking about shortening the train and moving the extra rosettes to the skirt to make it more dense.  Any thoughts?

The dress is more the dark red color in the photo of the skirt and I'm very happy with that.  The bust line seems to have been adjusted at one point to make the side less revealing and I'm pretty happy with that overall.  It does have a privacy panel but I'm thinking with the laces tightened it won't be so revealing and I'll probably just go without.

I chose the red for the dress because we are doing our renewal on 1-21-12 in Red Rock Canyon and I wanted something different and unexpected.

Alright ladies, I haven't been here in a bit, but I finally got a couple of pro pics (literally a couple, two! lol)  So here's the best of the two that shows off the dress detail.  If you saw my previous post about how FabulousU (fushopping.com) ruined my gown (and it cost more to repair the *@#%^! than it did to buy it!), then you will notice that the "wrinkly dog belly" is gone!  (If you haven't seen it, it's WAY back there!  Maybe somewhere around 250-ish?)

My seamstress was AWESOME!!  She removed the boning from the cups (I was wearing a bra anyway), she bustled the train (that bugger was HUGE!), she shortened the gown and removed all the wrinkles!  My dress was actually a little too big on me, but it was okay because it allowed it to flow a little better :)  I had all of the "guts" removed from the gown so it fell straight and was not quite as warm (although still SUPER heavy!)

Wearing the dress when it arrived, I felt horrible.  I cried, I felt so ugly, and I felt like the fattest bride that ever lived!  But once the gathers were taken from just below the bust, it took all of the attention OFF that area and brought it back up to "the girls", and I can honestly say I felt beautiful on my wedding day, "wings" and all! lol

And I've covered up our faces because I'm making a funny face, it looks like I'm laughing at hub while he's trying to be romantic and kiss my neck.  Aaaand, I like my privacy :)

hi there girls, I need your help... The website I work for is writing a book about Photobombs, and one of the categories is Wedding Photobomb... do any of you have photobombs pictures in your album and want the picture credited in our book? Please PM if you can help, here is the info:

You know what a Photobomb is, don't you? And wouldn't you like to walk into any book store in the world and point out YOUR photo in a book! Now's your chance. Oddee, an entertainment blog on oddities, has secured their first book deal and are putting together a fun book about Photobombs.

And they want your help. If you have your own hilarious photobombs lying around, send them to Oddee for a chance to be included in the book. They also give you a photo credit so you can see your name in print too. How cool is that? You must own these pictures and be willing to give Oddee permission to print them in the book.

Find out more about the Oddee book project and also some examples of the types of Photobombs they're looking for.
