erinmc,

As far as ordering that is kind of up to you.  I went ahead and ordered my dress even though I have plenty of time incase I had any issues with it and had to go to a plan B.  I posted earlier the time it took for my dress.  I will have to look that back up as I do not recall at this moment

As far as my measurements I actually had my mother and grandmother do them.  My grandma has done ALOT of sewing through the years.  I do know however that it is recommended to go to an actual professional.  Def do not try and do it yourself.  msnwink.gif

You want to loose 30lbs???? Are you planning on amputating a leg or something Erin? Based just on your profile picture you are being hard on yourself, you look great and I can't imagine where that 30 lbs is coming from!!

Everyone with experience on here highly recommends professional measurements so be sure to get that done!

I agree with "kthun" and you. I think the dress will flow better without the second row of beading.

Beautiful dress BTW ;)

Praye,

I believe I ordered the dress somewhere around June 16th and I got the dress delivered to my door around Aug 30th.  I had my first set of pictures the 11th and so I had a few minor things fixed, so I could have recieved the dress earlier.  I then recieved pictures of the dress after fixes on Aug 18th. I accepted the changes and end result of the dress, then they double checked the measurements and shipped my dress out!

Okay, I need some help with my reception dress.  The first pictures they sent me of it seemed like it really had potential and I love the way that the layers draped, but once I asked them to shorten the length, and make the split start a little lower on the leg, it lost that drapey look that I wanted, and I don't really know why.  Does anybody have any ideas on what I can ask them to do to make it more flowey at the bottom?

Here is my inspiration (from 2 different dresses, the bottom is my main concern)

Here are the first pictures they sent me and the changes I asked them to make:

And here is the way the dress looks now:

Any ideas?

OK, confession... I spent HOURS reading this thread, literally almost every page, and getting ready to order a dress from a knock-off site after seeing what they can do.  Then I randomly was walking around town and found a dress shop (not a bridal shop, just a regular dress shop) that carried the exact dress I've been eyeing and for only $181.  It was off the rack and fit me like a glove.  Lucky, huh?

BUT, since I spent so little I can now get a nice TTD dress.  There's a "dress dash" coming to town where all the dresses are $150 so I was thinking of looking there first, but that's not until October 22nd.  My wedding is the last week of February.  Do you think that, assuming I don't find a dress at the Dash, I can order a TTD dress from a knock-off site and get it in time?  I've been reading that dresses are sometimes finished in days, sometimes in weeks, and just wanted to see what the average is about.

Congrats you lucky girl! That is amazing you found the exact one in your exact size!!  Go buy a lottery ticket, you are obviously on a lucky streak!

For the TTD, I am dealling with Babyonline at the moment and am almost 6 weeks in since ordering and we are not even at final pictures yet before shipping.

However from reading all the posts on here it seems I'm just having a bad time and overall they are better than this. Give yourself some buffer time, I think 3 months is more than enough including shipping time (in my opinion). If you don't find anything on October 22nd, then make sure you have an online backup plan and order straight away (have your measurements taken before hand) and you might have the dress by Christmas!! Good luck!
