They got back to me today.  The person confirmed the skirt would not look like the photo so I gave them another one that I had liked as a back up with a bunch of changes.

As far as the bust, they asked for a bunch of measurements, including the fullest bust, underbust, shoulder to nipple, distance between nipple, etc.  I also additionally gave them an illustration of the dress with the height of the cup size measured out.  I'm not too concerned that the width will fit but more so that it will be so short in the cup that I spill out all over.

They have a good policy that says if it isn't the measurements that I supplied them they will reimburse a seamstress to alter up to 50% of the dress. So I don't think if would cost that much more to fix if I had to  I hope this is detailed enough..  4-15-2011 9;17;41 AM.JPG

Hi Twinky,

So far I think your dress looks great... although i do see the ink mark on the bodice, hopfully thats just chalk... I think I'll order with gianinar too since they let you pay half first and then the remaining total after you see the finished product of the dress. Could you post what pictures you sent them so we can see how similar the style is to what they replicated? I'm going for a slightly difficult style and am nervous about how close they will come in their version of it, so just wanted to see what you were looking at and  comparre it to what they have made for you.

Thanks a bunch and good luck ladies!!

I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but hopefully so. I, by pure luck, heard about the YWCA close to where I live having a bridal shop where Kleinfield's and Priscilla of Boston's donates dresses, typically samples, and the proceeds are used to fund a shelter for abused women. (Can you say WIN/WIN?!)

I went to check it out, and OMG! I found Monique Lhuillier's Lourdes dress for $400! It was in near perfect condition! I also found my dress, which will be the BL0901 Bliss by Monique Lhuillier for $158!!!!! This one actually was damaged, hence the uber low price, but it's a very very easy fix, and absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Anyways, if anyone ever has an inkling to make it down to SW Virginia, it's the Lynchburg, VA YWCA, and they call it Church Street Bridal. Seriously, the deals are UNBELIEVABLE! BTW, before the bliss dress, I found a drop dead gorgeous RS Couture dress with a tag from Kleinfields for $7700 for $300. I almost pulled the trigger, but it just didn't feel right. I was glad I waited and looked again this morning.

One more note, they had the ML Meredith dress in a size 10 for $350. I thought this would be a stunning beach dress. It did have a tad bit of damage to the sash that wraps around the waste, but with the right tucking, you wouldn't even notice it. My boobs are too big for it, though. :(

The other dresses I saw included Lazaro and Jim Helm. Also, Provonias (lots of this one) and Palomo Blanca.

That's insane! I had no idea such places existed, lol. I personally have no problem buying discounted (or dirt cheap!) items that are slightly damaged/broken, if they can be fairly easily fixed...you just have to "think outside the box" sometimes, lol. I can't believe they have such high end designer gowns for those prices...good find!

Hi Sammy,

My dress as such is quite simple. Its a replica of a dress I saw at one of the stores here. They charge like 3000SGD for a non designer dress here which is why I chose to go for the knock off gown. I will attach the description I sent across to Gianinar.

I am yet to receive any reply to my email to Gianinar with comments on the bodice pics that they sent me.Comments-Gown bodice.jpg

My comments on Gianinar so far, I really love the material they use. I asked them to send me pics of the lace they would use and they sent me pics of abt 10 diff types from which I could chose the exact one I wanted. Response to emails are also generally very quick.

Have you posted pics of the gown you intend to get Gianinar to make?

Goodluck with getting your perfect gown :)

I received my Babyonline dress! It was send by DHL and I actually received it the day after Babyonline send it and gave me my shipping number. I had to pay some tax (€ 25) and I didnâ€t have the cash, so I had to go to the DHL service point to fetch it.

When I unwrapped it, I found it was nicely packed and folded. They included a crinoline hoop( I didnâ€t even know they would) so I tried it on, and first thought there was something wrong with the sizing, but then I knew it was the hoop, that widened directly from the waist and made me look pregnant. I changed the hoop for one I already ordered and immediately it felt better. I think the dress is pretty good value for money!

When I checked it more carefully I found some flaws. For example there were some stains in the back and one layer of organza in the skirt has been sown inside out, but no one will notice. I asked Babyonline to send me some pictures before shipping and they didnâ€t. But I wouldnâ€t have notices these things anyway. I donâ€t think the girls I communicated with actually saw the dress, because I donâ€t think they work anywhere near the factory. But off course I could be totally wrong.

My mum was positively surprised, because she thought I was going to wear some shiny polyester dress that felt like plastic, but it feels pretty soft actually. It is a pretty plain dress and I am very happy with it, also considering the price (total $ 225 = dress $165+ $30 tax and $30 crinoline hoop).

I hope this information is helping other girls to decide whether or not to buy knock off, I found this thread quite helpful. And sorry my English is far from perfect, but I am not using it very much and certainly not all the wedding vocabulary…

LANDY BRIDAL   LANDYBRIDAL    I think the truest test of a company is what they do when something goes wrong.  Let's be honest.  If we know their customer service is good then we all relax and feel secure.  Isn't that the point.  We just want to know we aren't going to get ripped off.

I decided to order my daughters wedding dress from Landybridal.com in time so that if it wasn't what we wanted we still had a bit of time to try to buy a used one.  So far they were 2 weeks late making the dress, which honestly is not a huge problem.  Then they mailed me the wrong dress.

Now they want me to mail this dress to its owner in Japan - which i am very happy to do.  It will cost me $55.00   They didn't mention when or how they would refund me.  They say the lady in Japan has my dress, but haven't said that she is mailing it to me.

Very verve wracking.  And I am surprised that such a large company doesn't have better service for such problems.   I have to fill out customs forms and stand in line just to mail this off. Wouldn't be a problem but I am disabled and money is tight.   I thought surely DHL would pick it up or something.

Nice dress,  but certainly not the white wedding dress we ordered.  This belongs to a lady in Japan.

We will see what happens.  The wedding is in June.  210671_10150264648504838_626159837_9184325_7735951_o.jpg
