Our wedding was this past Friday (April 24th) at the Riu Vallarta. We had a great time--- Jessica and Kay were great!! I'll post pictures soon.

We also had the Royal package---but the costs were in the same range we expected them to be even with the conversion.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS!! You're wedding was beautiful.

Thank you sooo much for posting pics. It's really helpful. I have a bunch of questions for you:
- Did the resort cover the chairs and provide the chair ties or did you have to purchase that and bring it down?
- Was the photographer easy to work with? Did they give you a chance to tell him the types of pictures you wanted?
- Your flowers were amazing. I'm guessing the blue one was fake (I've never seen a flower so blue). Did you have your bouquet made ahead of time or did they do it? If so did you just give them photos?

I'm having a really hard time getting things setup with Jessica (she isn't returning my emails). Did you have your dinner reservations and stuff scheduled ahead of time? Did you have anything beside your ceremony scheduled?

Thanks so much for your help!

- Bo

Thanks Helen. Getting everything set up was a very smooth. Jessica and Kay were very organized. We were able to email back and forth a lot before we arrived, so a lot of the planning was done before getting to the resort.

Thanks!!

Chairs- The resort provided the chair covers and bows. I was told before I arrived what decorations came with my package. The chair bows are offered by the resort come in pink, blue and white. The blue worked out for us, because of our colors.

Photographer- Here's the link to his website Aldo Tovar Photographer

He was pretty easy to work with. I had shots in mind that I wanted and was able to tell him what I wanted after the ceremony (the 1st time I met him was after the ceremony--my hubby met him before the ceremony). He took several pics of him and our guests before I actually came out and before they took their spots for the ceremony. We did the video as well, so he had several crew members---they took shots from different angles during the ceremony. Once I went through the shots I wanted--he took over and had shots that I assume are his "signature" shots for the resort. He went pretty quick and was very professional the entire time. He is pretty stern about not having others take pictures during his poses--- he mentioned it the flashes messing with his flashes and throwing his shots off (my hubby said he probably wanted to ensure we purchased his photos too).

Flowers- My flowers were actually all real and done through the resort's florist. I picked out my flowers during my meeting with Jessica. She has a binder with photos of just about everything they offer for the ceremony (flowers, centerpieces, cakes, etc). Jessica will also let you know the colors each flower that have will come in. I added the flowers to the arch (not included in my package). I forgot to bring the color blue down during our meeting--so I actually had to describe it to her. I knew the type of flower I wanted ahead of time and emailed her to see if they offer it. I believe she said they had to paint the ivory flowers. I asked them to do a simple version of my bouquet for my sister (maid of honor). I used the same color scheme for the arch.

They took the flowers from the arch and used them to decorate the head table during dinner.

Dinner- Jessica sent me the times for dinner and locations for dinner. I selected the spot and time before arriving and confirmed the time when we arrived. We also had a "welcome dinner" and arranged the event with Jessica when we arrived. We ended up using the main location for dinner service---and they had a section "blocked off " in the back of restaurant.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask. You can also send me an email-- [email protected]

BTW--- I heard Jessica was very difficult to get a hold of. In my response to my first email from her...I asked what her schedule was like for the week and tried to respond to her 1st email with as many questions as I could possible think of. She usually responded to my questions within a day or so. However, I did find it helpful to email the Wedding Sales Coordinator for Cancun and Vallarta-- Tristan Chacó[email protected]
