I haven't tried my dress on again since getting it back from alterations!! I will do it this weekend and let everyone know the outcome. Also I will post my DIY thread this weekend too...I'm saying that now so I actually do it. It's less than 30 days now until we leave....can't believe it! Took a vacation day today to get some last minute stuff done. Also just wanted to say we did not have any changes to price, etc....from what we were quoted originally. Everything has been perfect. The Churros are a GREAT idea!! At some point before the wedding I have to get off of this forum or I will just keep adding stuff....I am going to talk to Bryan today about Churros for one night....Keep fingers crossed!! LOL!

So... did anyone do the legal wedding at PF? Or did everyone get married back home first? I was hoping to get married at city hall first but I just learned last night that you can't do that in British Columbia (weird, I know). I'm wondering how getting the legal part done was? How much extra work was it? What would you recommend? I have to decide now between a legal marriage in Mexico or a legal ceremony here (where I'd have to find and book a location and a commissioner) and which would be easier.

Thanks for the help!

Hmmm... We got married here but I think it might be easier to do it down there... remember, Lindsay does EVERYTHING so anything extra you'll have to do will just be on your itinerary. Are you using their officiants anyways? If so the additional cost would be cut in half. Did you write Lindsay/Blair an emailhuh.gif
We had a friend officiate (free) so it made sense to get legally married here.

Good luck!

We got legally married in the states two weeks before we left for Playa Fiesta. We made this decision after speaking to Lindsay about legally getting married in Mexico. I think getting legally married there takes up a lot of time and energy (like a whole days worth), and we wanted to spend every minute with our family and friends. I think about 99% of PF brides get married at home first. My suggestion would be to take care of it beforehand so that you can devote your time and attention to your loved ones while you are in Mexico.

I was originally determined to get legally married in PV, but after speaking with Lindsay I changed our/my mind. I didn't want to do two ceremonies, but after I realized that we would be married by a judge in Mexico that would preform the ceremony in spanish, I knew it had to be done. I speak conversational spanish, but DH does not and it seemed ridiculous to make those sort of promises to each other if we're not understanding what we're saying.

We got married the day before we left for PV in our local church with just my parents. So it actually worked out great because I still got to have a church wedding and it only cost $95 for the marriage license and a $200 donation to our church.

Good luck. Either way you'll find a way that works best for you two!

Hi Playa Fiesta Brides! I'm a newbie to the forum and so excited to hear all of the great tips from those of you who are already married and from the brides to be!

I hate to change the subject from legal ceremony talk- but I am currently looking for invitations that are pretty but also offer enough space/pages to get all of this DW info out there to our guests! (Especially for the older guests who probably have not frequented our wedding website!) Any websites, brands, pictures or ideas you could share would be fantastic!!

Gracias!

So I found the Invitations threads after I posted the msg above...so I am getting some good ideas. But feel free if anyone wants to share pics of theirs!

Next question: Any of the Playa Fiesta brides get married at the Catholic Church instead of the hotel? I know there is a Catholic Church thread...but my specific question is about music and trying to decide what music to have at the Church and then back at the hotel for the reception. Anyone have experiences to share?

We didn't get married at the church but there are some good reviews out there... non Playa Fiesta that I can find. One thing I heard was that the accoustics were not so great at the church so don't waste too much $$/ effort on that. But it would be cool if you had some live music as your guests get back to the hotel.

And as far as invites go: I did a normal, simple invite with the link to our website that had all of the additional information. The website info was on our save the dates too. I would post my website to share but I changed it all for our AHR.
MEL: Do you still have your website up and running? Anyone else?

My website is still up, but not sure for how much longer: jennieandreggie.com I updated it right before the wedding so it doesn't have our original welcome message. But the info on PF seemed to be helpful to our guests. (Thanks again Kate for letting me borrow).

I ordered simple invites from weddingpaperdivas.com which I loved. Here's a link to the exact invitation.

We weren't able to fit a ton of information on there so we too directed everyone to our site. We didn't have anyone who wasn't able to get online to view. However, some people contacted my parents with additional questions.

sabbott - have you set a date yet?
