OOT bags and/or Favors?

Recommended Posts

My fiance also wants to the donation as a favor.  I plan on doing the OOT bags, fans at the ceremony, maraca at the reception (for use instead of tapping a glass and can serve as a semi-favor), and a card that says a donation is being made.

At present, I don't think we will do favors at the AHR (which will just be a party with hors d'oeuvres).  We plan on getting koozies printed with our logo for the OOT bags but the orders are cheaper in bulk so we will likely have enough left over to give those away at the AHR.

I know that for local weddings I don't ever appreciate the favors and guests know that destination weddings don't have the same "rules".

I'm leaning toward doing favors.  Since the OOT bags will be per couple I wanted to do something individual.  But I guess it depends how much ends up in the OOT bag when all is said and done.  I saw a picture or idea somewhere about having a "departing" gift table instead of favors at each seat.  There were water bottles (with custom labels on them) and some sort of sweet-like a baggy of Hersey kisses.  I think guests would appreciate that more than some trinket.  Last wedding I attended out of town had very cute little votive lantern holders and I wanted to take them home, but couldn't find a place in my suitcase where the glass wouldn't break.  So that's always in the back of my mind - I want to give my guests stuff that is easily packable to take home.
