Don't worry I don't think that is a rude question.

 

The dress was a gift, so I actually didn't pay anything for it...but if I had, it would have been less than $1000. I did look into other 30s era reproduction gowns. (like those at Isadoras ). They started at $1000 and then went up...way up mostly. So I think having my custom was the way to go.

 

This is the way to go if you know exactely what you want. If you are unsure of the style it may not be the best choice as you can't try the dress on before hand. I was luck to have the vintage gown 1st as I knew how the style looked on my body. I would still suggest going to some bridal stores and try on dresses that are similar to the one you want to make sure the style fits your body type.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking of custom, but I was afraid it might be out of reach - now I'm definitely looking into it!
