The costs to rent a timeshare is so much less than renting a room or suite at a regular resort. So we are doing that for accomodations for the wedding party, which is about 20 people (5 rooms). Then we are going to ask that each person who FOR SURe knows that they will be coming to make a $150 deposit for their share of the room expenses. And then once we get closer to the date we will know exactly how many people are coming and how much more to charge each person. Sounds like alot of work right? But I think its worth it to have all my peeps come from all over. I'll do the extra work.

So we will stay at a timeshare and then have the wedding and reception at the Marriot. The total for each person to stay at the timeshare will be no more than $300. Which is a sweet deal for a whole week! Okay this is becoming wayy too long so I will end here. But def. let me know if you have questions! I am excited to hear where you end up having your wedding. I spoke with my WC today (via email) and she still won't book 2/11/10 until about a month. She says that she is only booking conventions right now. UGH!
a_Bailly -- I like your idea! which timeshare did you pick? My grandparents own a few and i was hoping to trade them to use for my wedding, but it seems everyone else is doing the all-inclusive thing. I was starting to think it wasn't possible...

Hello 2010 Brides! My fiance and I are getting married feb 2010 in Jamaica. We have narrowed it down to two resorts but can not decide. Not only is that frustrating but we are still waiting on 2010 rates to come out. So right now I am kinda stuck waiting. But either way I am so excited and can not wait to send out my STDs! Congratulations everyone and happy planning!

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and planning on a Feb 2010 date. I am going down to cancun on Mar 4. While there I am goiing to check out two AI adult only resorts, The Royal in Playa and the Valentin Imperial. Those are the two I have narrowed it down to. I will take lots of pics and send me a message if you have any questions you would like me to ask!

Since there are so many people on this thread I just want to say good luck to everyone.. I am "hoping" to be a early July 2010 bride, but we can't confirm anything until the end of this month..At least we, the 2010 people who haven't been able to set a date yet, can vent together! But we have plenty of time to plan!

Hi Everyone! i'm glad to see that i am not the only 2010 bride. It seems like a long time to be planning, but it gives all of my guests plenty of time to plan accordingly. I have been in contact with Gaby at Dreams Cancun and she has tentatively reserved our date for June 11, 2010. I chose dreams b/c of the many positive reviews on this forum, and also b/c it is very reasonably priced for my guests. It also has an excellent location (for guests who like to party). Good luck planning!

Wow, does anyone else feel like that just finding a resort is really hard? There's just so many places and so many options, and I'm sure they're all great, it's Cancun afterall. I do know I want an all-inclusive and to get married on the beach. That really does not narrow it down. Just wanted to vent a little.

Hello! Leogurl my suggestion...go to a TA (even if you are not planning on using one) and he or she can help you with making your decision. They should have plenty of books/magazines for great locations in Mexico. I went to several of them just to get a better idea. Hope this information helps you...

Hey there 2010 brides! Our big day is around April 2010. We are interested in the RIU Palace, Riviera Maya. Unfortunately I don't have a specific date yet...still waiting on the resort to release their 2010 packages...which makes it hard to move forward with anything else. Hoping they'll release them soon and we can get this show on the road! Happy Planning fellow Bride-to-Be's!!!
