I'm in the same situation, and so far, I think I agree with the other responses on here about waiting until after the wedding. My mom actually sent an email announcement to some family members and some people got offended that they weren't invited. So I think it might be best to wait until after the wedding, to avoid confusion and hurt feelings (as well as possible).

I agree with sending the STD's to those you are inviting. Send invites to those you are inviting and send the announcements to everyone- regardless if they were invited or not - but only send them AFTER the wedding.

 

It's kind of an insult to send an announcement to people that you are getting married but they aren't invited.
