Hollywood Romance - IDEAS?!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone...

We're having our AHR the weekend after we arrive back from our Mexican wedding. We decided some time ago we wanted to have a ... sort of ... Hollywood Romance theme...to emphasis how classic our own story is...and define our true love of movies!

We have few ideas, mostly just to warm the room up and make it more romantic...but...we've sort of lost the Hollywood part!

We know you are all FILLED with incredible ideas...and thought we'd just post to see if anyone could steer us back in a Hollywood Romantic direction!

This is what we're doing so far:

For the cocktail hour (and a half) we have a reel of Hollywoods Best/Most Romantic Kisses...its about an hour, and we'll just loop it...we're playing it to some of our favorite romantic soundtrack songs...as background ambience.

We have "Main Attraction" drink tickets that we made (see below)...and "LOVE" letters for the cake table.

We'll be doing the Martha Stewart Poms and Luminaries in Ivory and Citrus Green...

We're having a "white" carpet and ropes entrance with a photographer shoot (our hope is to acquire pics of our guests to compile our Guest book with, and ... have a picture to send everyone in their thank yous)

There will be lots of mini lights and candles...champagne and delicious food.

What else can we do to make it all come together?

One cute thing I've seen before is in place of the traditional 'tink tink tink' on your wineglass to get the bride and groom to kiss, the guests are encouraged to think up classic movie kiss scenes for the bride and groom to re-enact. Think the upside-down spiderman kiss or that pottery wheel scene from ghost... it could be really interesting!

Also, not sure if this will help or not... but here's a fantastic wedding planning site I know of with loads of vintage and glamour inspired details. There's a few things I could see lending themselves well to your theme. :)
