My non-traditional Invites/STDs...w/ pics!

Recommended Posts

So we went kinda casual with the invites...

It took us so long to get out our STDs, that we ended up combining the two...

so this is our invite/STD...

-We used the pics from our engagement session and a poem by one of my favorite authors (ee cummings)

-printed the envelopes on our home printer

-Invites/postcards/envelopes from vistaprint.com $45

-ribbon from Michaels and Walmart $8

-sand dollars from Oriental Trading $5

-glue tape $7

-white paperstock from amazon.com $20 (i really wanted colored metallic but it was so expensive to get in the size we needed) I really didn't want to spend a lot of money considering not that many people are going to end up coming anyway...

-postage $40 (two postcard stamps and 2 regular stamps for each invite)

-----Grand total: $125

DIY is NOT always cheaper, especially in lower quantities...postage really got us, it was an extra 20 cents to have the sand dollar on them because they couldn't go through the machine at the post office. I had budgeted $100 for these and went a little over...BUT I could have saved money at vistaprint if I waited to get a better coupon and we will use the paper for the rest of our projects (over 200 sheets left)...
