Hola, guapas! :) Newbie on board. I am seriously considering scrapping the formal wedding plan for a relaxed, oceanfront toes-in-the-sand party in Mexico. I joined this forum so I can get some great ideas, and collect the "ammo" I need to launch the DW idea to the guy and change his mind about it! LOL

 

Lil' info about us: We met in Paris in 2001 (he's American & so am I). We have been engaged since New Year's 2006 and now live in sunny SoCal. Not sure when the nuptials will take place - maybe Fall '08? For the moment, I am just doing lots of research and trying to figure out where to have the party!

Welcome! Btw I love Paris, how romantic that the two of you met there. I just saw your e-ring in another post and I think it is absolutely stunning. Hopefully you'll FI will want to do the whole DW. It is just great! There is so much good advice on this board and you will make tons of new friends. Let us know how we can help in the convincing and/or wedding planning.

i will say, DWs aren't for everyone, but i LOVE most everything about them! they definitely have their own challanges, but in the end, they're so much more personal and about the friends and family at the wedding, than they are about putting on a show. let us know if we can help!

I agree with Ann, DW planning can be hard at times, and if your at all anal then it can be stressful. BUT with that said if your looking for a quiet time with just the most important people with you, then a DW might be the way to go. Let us know if you have any questions.
