Thanks Christa! Did you get to sample any of Baja Cantina's food. Maye sent me the menu too and I was thinking the Taco Bar for $21/person seems reasonable too. Are you doing their open bar plan or consumption?

Has anyone eaten here at the Baja Cantina before? How is the food?

Well, I haven't seen the munu yet, but my WC says $21 per person for a full mexican-style buffet. Of course, drinks are extra. So, that sounds like it's the same price as Baja Cantina's taco bar. Puerta Vieja has a private room upstairs, so if you're looking for a quieter setting this might be a good spot.

Another thing that you could do is rent out a villa for a night and cook for your guests. Thats what my finace and I are doing. He is Mexican and I am Italian so we are each making mexican and Italtian food for everyone as a thank you. I think we are spending $700 for the whole thing including food.

Who are you renting the villa through? My family has rented a 6 bedroom house in Pedregal for the week of the wedding and I thinking about doing the rehearsal dinner there. BUT the rental agency (www.cabovillas.com) has told me that I would have to pay extra to have more than the maximum listed guests at the house.

I am just doing a Rehersal dinner. We are going to have everyone together the night day anyway! We are doing wedding party & family only (which is still 37 people!). I am going to invite everyone to meet up after at one of the bars. We scheduled our rehersal dinner early (5:30 PM).

were doing a welcome dinner (location tbd) and a rehearsal dinner aboard the Adventurer through Sunrider tours. It's important to us to provide for our guests as they're traveling great distances to be with us, and we did not go the AI route.

Also, we're bringing together a lot of family and friends who have never met - I have divorced parents and both parents are remarried. My fiance's family is huge, so it's a great opportunity for everyone to meet and hang out before the actual wedding.
