Calling the fashion police!!

Your dress is beautiful. But a veil is totally a personal opinion. I always liked the really long mantilla veils. But the dress that I found had so much beautiful lace and beading, that I needed an ultra plain veil, so the two items didn't compete. I think you should try your gown on with a whole bunch of different veils and probably one will stand out.

Personally, I am alwasy a fan of the longer veils. Actually, your dress looks like a style that would look good with my veil. I was going to make it myself, but ran out of time/energy, so had my seamstress make it for $25. I bought 108" of tulle, whatever width was widest in the fabric store, and had it tapered from 108" at the bottom to 56" connected to the comb. This allowed some sheerness where it covered my dress, but gave the volume that I wanted. Just an idea.

Oh, and I am 5'2 and was barefoot, so I don't think length is an issue for height. I think it's more about the dress.

I think your gown is absolutely gorgeous. I would go with either a floor length or chapel length veil. Your dress looks like a 30's (think, Jean Harlow) style gown and they wore the longer veils back in the day. You could get a bit of the beading detail along the edge, to blend with, but not detract from your beautiful gown.

Here's some descriptions on what the longer veils are:

Cathedral veils are worn only for formal weddings. The veil will extend onto the floor at least six inches past the train for a very dramatic look. Cathedral length veil looks best when worn with a cathedral or semi-cathedral length gown. This look is very popular today. Cathedral wedding veils come in one or two layers,

30â€x 120†length for cathedral wedding veils.

Chapel length veils are extended to the floor and three inches past the train of your dress. If you are looking for a long veil that wont get in the way as much as a cathedral veil a chapel wedding veil might work best for you. The chapel length veils come in one or two layers, 30"x 90" length for chapel length wedding veils.

Floor length veils go to the end of your dress, just hitting the floor. The floor length wedding veils come in one or two layers, 30â€x 72†length for floor length wedding veils.
