Mexico Blood Tests...EK!!!!!!!!

...So I am a complete baby, I know! But I have a phobia of needles! embarrest.gif This creates a problem getting legally married in Mexico. I would love to be legally married there and have our actual date on our marriage certificate but it doesnâ€t seem realistic when there is no way in my mind I can physically get a blood test. So I guess I am just wondering if anyone knows if there is any way around the blood test or what you ladies did who just did a religious or symbolic wedding?! I donâ€t want all my guests knowing that I had them come all the way there for our wedding when were arenâ€t “actually†tying the knot, is there any way they would know if I didnâ€t say anything!? I am confused, is the religious/ symbolic ceremonies just the same as the legal with a minister and what not just not legal?

There is no way around the blood test - but I promise it is not that bad! My experience at the Moon Palace was kind of crazy - I had to ASK no more like TELL the guy to change his gloves EWWW!! But after that it was fine! If you decide to go the symbolic route you don't have to do the blood test though - so you might want to look into that at your resort!

And as far as your guests coming all that way to see you get married - a symbolic wedding is still just as important as the legal one - And you don't have to necessarily tell your guests you already legally did it. It will be just as special no matter how you do it! Good Luck!

Hi Dana

Like Betsy said, there's no way around the blood test for a legal wedding. I don't like needles either, but I had to take them anyways, thankg God the Lab guy who took it has a great hand, since I didn't feel too much pain.

Now, the religious wedding is just as great as the legal wedding and, if the minister does a great job, none of your guest would ever know that you were already legally married in the US or that you would do the legal wedding when you get back.

I hope this helped
