Guests worried about crime in Jamaica

One of my good friends is from Kingston, she actually just got back from there. She told me that the resorts are safe, its the towns, cities, and people who live there. Police are corrupt there too, but as she told me, the resorts are like "a different world".

I think it is kind of like that everywhere - just use common sense and you will be okay - and if your guests are "scared" then tell them just to stay at the resort! It seems like everytime there is a news story on a crime in another country people freak out and act like it only happens in other countrys. There is crime here too though - so don't worry - I definitly don't think you should change your plans though - if people are too scared to go (which is ridiculous) then they should just stay home!! LOL!
