Calling all November 2009 Brides!

I'm a November 2009 bride too! I am so excited to finally be less then 10 months away from marrying my best friend.

 

We're getting married at the Grand Riviera Princess Resort in Riviera Maya.

We've put the deposit down for our date but haven't booked our trip yet. We should be booking in the next week or so. We're going to Cozumel for our honeymoom afterwards and won't be coming back until the 28th and right now the direct flights have not been released for our return flight. So we're waiting for them to be released and then we'll book. I've bought my dress and we have our bm and gm picked. STD and invitations are in hand but we want to wait until we book to mail them out. I kind of did a combination of both, we have a STD magnet and then an invitation with all the information. I didn't do RSVP cards or anything because I figured we'd know who would be attending by getting who booked from our travel agent.

 

I think that's all I've accomplished so far. For now I just have booking our trip and getting more ideas on my agenda. We'll look for the gm's outfits once spring hits because we want to get linen pants. We've looked at bm dresses but I just have my sister and fi sister so I'm not worried about them picking exactly which one at this point. We've agreed on pool and mocha for our wedding colors. My sister will wear pool and my FSIL will wear mocha.

I have the same problem with waiting on the flights to be released, plus the tour company who has the charter packages for our resort doesn't have their contracts with the hotel in yet so I probably won't even know pricing until May or June. Hard to get anyone to confirm until I get that info!

Oh thats different, my destination wedding TA has already got us our rates for our hotel and which days they fly out... she doesn't have the exact times that these flights are but she does have our rates and dates. My TA is based out of Vancouver and I am in Calgary... but shes got the rates through Signature flying out of Calgary... you would think they would have them for you!

I know, I have checking flights almost everyday to get down to Cabo. We are using standard airlines and for the past few weeks the cheapest has been US Airways and I saw multiple brides post not rave reviews on them. One review even stated they would not put her dress in the first class closet and she had to stuff into an overhead bin.

Yeah I was seriously wondering that too... what if the flight that we go one doesn't have the first class storage and then what? Someone suggested to call the airline or talk to my TA about asking to hang it in the flight attendants closest, is that big enough either? Or would it be crammed either way

Most brides have been able to have thier dress be hung in the closet, yes it is probably crowded and will get a little smushed

 

but at least it is not SMASHED in the over head bin.

I am another November 2009 Bride to Be!!! I'm getting marrried Nov 16th at The Majestic Colonial, Punta Cana.

I am a little ahead of the game but that is because I am working full time and going to school part time so I had to get a jump start on the wedding when I have free time.

I am getting so excited and I am sure these months will just fly by! Good luck with your planning everyone!

*20 people booked so far (getting so excited)

*Making homemade scrapbook for guestbook

*got starfish bouquet jewel

*OOT bag contents decided on mostly

*Photographer booked

 

Still to do:

*BM dresses

*Groom and groomsmen clothing

*buy rings

*but OOT bag stuff

*thank you cards for wedding party

*buy more suitcases

*make DIY luggage tags for guests

*buy candy for favours and put them together

*buy wedding party gifts

*write vows

Hey girls! I'm so excited for a Nov 2009 thread! I'm a November bride - 11/28/2009 at the Barcelo Maya Palace. I'm not very far in the decision making process so I will need help! Here is what I got:

 

- Picked resort (but waiting to book because of flights not avaliable yet - we are most likely going to use USA 3000....they should be released next week. They have GREAT deals for anyone that has them at their airport!)

- Dress....wearing my mom's! She got married in Hawaii so its a perfect beach dress!

- Colors - Black, white and pink! The black and white theme will most likely be damask

- Not doing STD - Just an Early invite - Damask Passport invites...DIY....almost done!

 

I still have TONS to do!!! Ahhh!! Now I'm freaking out
