Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Rosa - congrats on your legal day!

I have a question - how are you ladies getting everything to your resort? I am bringing insulated mugs, some table decorations, programs, cake topper, guestbook, and other things - but I don't know if I'm going to fit it all in one suitcase. What is everyone else doing?

Well we are cruising to St Thomas so we are sending all of the wedding stuff (programs, centerpieces, ribbon wands etc) to our WC in October but we are taking an extra suitcase filled with OOT Bags... We figure it'll work out that once we give out the OOT bags we'll fill up the suitcase with all of our treasures from the cruise. My FI and I will have soo much stuff; 4 reg pieces of luggage, my gown, and the extra suitcase for OOT Bags and who knows what else more lol...

I originally planned on shipping all of my OOT stuff to the hotel in advance and then assembling them while I was there. However, they told me that the mail service is unreliable so to just bring it with me. I guess I will be bringing it all in a suitcase.

I'm now planning on getting things to stuff it with that are very flat and travel well. :) I really hate having to deal with so much luggage at the airport, but I don't see any other way around it.

Are most of you able to ship stuff to your hotel in advance?

I am really confused about this as well... I would love to ship it all there before I go - I just don't see how in the world I am going to get it all there in luggage. I have boxes of maracas, flip flops, towels, and my oot bags.... too much stuff!!!!! Not to mention my dress etc..... I have heard that if you ship it in plenty of time then if it happens to get lost it gives the postal service enough time to locate it (still a little scary)... but, not real sure what other options are. I'm wondering too if you ship it 'Priority Mail' if that hellps..... would love to know what other are doing....

I'm totally having the same dilemna! I've got OOT Bags for over 40 ppl and also oversized beachbags with pashminas and flipflops for (potentially) 9 people (my wedding party and the moms and sisters). And I only get one peice of luggage and one checked bag!! I'm definitely taking my dress carry on, and am requiring the same from the entire wedding party (don't want to lose the wedding day wardrobe!).

Luckily, I've had offers from some of the men going to take some of this stuff. They figure they won't need an entire bag, and a few people have also booked with a different travel provider that allows two bags, so I'll be taking advantage of them as well. Delegate it out. Just make sure the people you are assigning it to are arriving on the same day as you!

Something else I'm considering, my MOH is coming (YAY!) 4 days after most ppl and gets two bags+carry on(as does her bf). So rather than load her up with the gift/wedding items, which I'll need on day one to hand out, I'll have her bring me a bunch of clothes for my honeymoon week to follow.

I never even thought of this! That's a good idea -I have some people who I'm sure would take a few things for me!!
