Renova Spa

Has anyone had their hair and make-up done at the Renova Spa at the Riu? I am undecided about Renova and Susan Morel. I would like to stay at the resort on the day of the wedding and not have to worry about getting back in time. I am looking at a package for mani, pedi and definitely hair, not sure about make up.

Any reviews?

Hello! I am wondering the same thing...I wouldn't mind using the spa at the resort. I have only heard rave reviews about Suzanne Morel.

 

Isn't there anyone on here that has had their hair/makeup done at Renova Spa??

We used the spa at the Riu for the wedding in October. The bride and the maid of honor were so unimpressed after the trial run, that they cancelled the hair appt for the actual wedding day.

 

That being said, everyone that went to the spa for a massage, mani, pedi etc; were all very happy with the services.

 

I guess hair is not really their forte

Ripcat, I think you will be very happy with your choice. Congrats, one thing to mark off list. By the way Erika was going to let me have Suzanne come on site, but Suzanne was booked so we went to her. No biggie. But wanted to let you know.

Hello Ripcat - you should also look into Neysa Berman - I believe her website is neysaberman.com - she looks really good too! A bride on this forum, she got married at the RIU Palace, used Neysa....looks like she does a great job too!

I am very unsure about the Renova Spa once reading the comment on this thread...regarding the pre-trial.

The part that was the most frustrating was that the girls wanted something basic. Something wavy and free.... Carrie Underwood kinda style. And what they got was far from that.

 

They kept saying that the hair had to be hairsprayed down a whole lot because the wind will destroy it (the wedding was on the beach). The girls said they were ok with that wind blown sort of thing.

 

The whole thing was rather frustrating. But like I said, the mani, pedi and massages were great there

I would definitely recommend using Suzanne Morel over the spa at the Riu....That being said, the Renova spa is great for manicures, pedicures and massages!

I looked into using Neysa Berma for my hair, but she didn't respond as quickly as Suzanne did. I really appreciated the promptness that Suzanne had! She is also a perfectionist, so she WILL NOT let you leave her salon unless you are 100% happy with your hair.

I'm not sure where Neysa's salon is located, but Suzanne's is maybe 10 min from the Riu....meaning less travel time on the big day! She actually had one of her assistants drive us back to our resort....I thought that was great!
