Noterized Documents!

Hey ladies

 

I am getting married at the Riu ocho Rios, I got all my documents noterized today. I got my birth certificate , drivers license and passport done. Now do I photocopy the noterized copies and send that and then take the original noterized copy plus original documents when I go?? or do I send the original noterized copies??

 

Also I only have a short Birth Certificate so I used that, now I know on here people have said you need a long one and others say no just the short.. can someone who got married there that used a short let me know that it is ok!!

I sent the notorized copies, but scanned them and e-mailed them to RMB before I did so...so they have 2 copies. I am also going to e-mail myself the copies to a yahoo e-mail address so I can acess them from Jamica in an emergency.

 

Also, I had the long version of the birth certificate and FI had the short. They haven't said anything to us yet about that being wrong...so I think you are OK.

So you sent the original noterized copies to Jamaica??

I had the original documents copied and then had the xerox copies notoried. That is what I sent to Jamaica. I still have our original birth certs, passports, etc.

 

Also I sent the documents via certified mail. In the US they seal and stamp the envelope so it's trackable and you can tell if it was opened before it gets to its destination. It cost a bit more, but the security is worth it.

I took our original birth certificates and passports to our bank. They made copies and notarized the copies. I scanned the copies that were notarized and then emailed them to Chandlyn.

 

I brought the notarized copies with me, but she never asked for them. That was all she needed. It was a lot easier and cheaper to email them.
